  • I dont think we can realy compare a Large African Lion to a Large Siberian Tiger ,Siberians are used to a harder life and this makes them more prepared for any situation.

    STRONGER

    HEAVIER

    LONGER

    BGR CANINES

    FASTER REACTION

    SMARTER

    SOLITARY HUNTING

    BITE FORCE

  • animals that take longer to become independent from their parents are usually more intelligent. Humans take the longest. Its because more intelligent animals have more to learn rather than just living by instinct.

  • I've heard from a scientist that normally social animals are more intelligent. Plus humans evolved on the plains of Africa.

  • okay Prater was born in 1890 but did he even go to Africa? the idea that tigers are more cunning sounds like a stereotype to me.

  • being more obedient doesn't necessarily mean that lions are less intelligent. They live in social groups, unlike tigers, so they might just be more inclined to bond with humans and like our company more. Being social also means they have a better understanding of dominance/hierarchy so they might accept a human telling them what to do more if they see him as a parent or leader.

  • plus the reaction of one lion and one tiger in one situation obviously proves nothing.

  • Regarding the superior size of the tiger an article arguing bigger brain size:

There is a popular notion that tigers are ‘bigger’ than lions... However, careful re-evaluation of original field data and relatively well-documented hunting records does not support this popular notion. The modern wild-living tiger has an estimated average body weight of c. 160 kg for adult males and c. 115 kg for adult females, whilst modern wild-living lion weigh c. 175 kg (males) and c. 120 kg (females).

  • @tubebunny7 I know that figure aint for a Siberian tiger!

  • @InnocenceExperience

The siberian tiger is somewhat bigger than the bengal tiger but the average size of the Siberian tiger is about the same as the average male lion:

    From wikipedia:

According to modern research of wild Siberian tigers in Sikhote-Alin, an average adult male tiger (>35 months) weighs 176.4 kg (389 lb)

  • @tubebunny7 yep I just read that on wikipedia myself! So, same size.

  • @InnocenceExperience

Not to mention that some argue that Siberian tigers arent' bigger than Bengal tigers:

Dale Miquelle, program director of the Siberian Tiger Project, writes that, despite repeated claims in the popular literature that the Siberian is the largest of all tigers, their measurements on more than fifty captured individuals suggest that it body size is, in fact, similar to that of Bengal tigers

  • Tigers are human like in thier cunning that's why the british in india consider them a pleasure to hunt them as in those days there was no discovery channel and national geographic channel and the internet which has popularised the hunting animals with cameras.

  • agreed indeed even though its not that big of a deal but good information

  • Interesting video, but you're suggesting the being solitary and in the jungle favors intelligence over other habitats right? I'd say that is a false analogy.

Our ancestors (who were extremely social) evolved in the great plains. Also the wolf (which is one of the smartest animals on the planet) is social too. Other than that, interesting vid...

  • @doug2bitemore Smartness of primates is completely different from smartness of felines. Our ancestors were not omnivorous like primates and not full time hunters like the big cats.Wolf can't be said to have more intelligent than a fox or coyote.A lion has hands to help in hunting, feeding and protecting against enemies like hyenas and wild dogs whereas the the tiger has to think on its own to hunt and avoid enemies like hyenas and red dogs- dholes..

  • i think the maker of this vid def likes to touch himself to tiger vids

  • tigers are proven to be more intelligent than lions. and stronger too.

  • @peleth@brentlion

  • I actually laughed when i saw the tiger atttacking the jaguar onky becuase i've seen the jaguar attack the lion in soo many videos and the fact the lion ignores it but i havn't seen one video with thetiger and i see it now, and see the tiger attack even before the jaguar strikes, which seemed the opposite of what i've seen with the lion.

  • What's your point? You are an animal hater like many tiger fans on here. Why don't we stick you in a cage with a tiger and then see how much of a tiger lover you are.

All this talk about which cat is superior and all means you are a hater period.

  • Tigers are very cunning and have to be alert twenty four seven since they live alone normally but lions are by far stronger when they set their mind (small mind) to it they can kill, but test the lions at night and use female lions not the stupid pussy male lions

  • Encephalization quotients are not intelligence tests.

Shrews have bigger brains in proportion to their body size than people do.

Are you going to argue that shrews are more intelligent than us?

  • in the clip at 3:55 you can see the lion notices the jaguar, but doesnt confront it, couldnt the tiger be considered less intelligent for seeing the much much smaller jaguar as a threat and disobeying orders by attacking it? just a thought.

  • Great Video!!! Good to see some truth instead of the lies the lion fans' tell!! :)

  • courageous lions they are.
