Actually I am having a lot of fun pursuing this polemic against your silicone diva. English audiences are notoriously tasteless and ignorant so the fact that people enjoy these cheap popera concerts means nothing. She is incapable of singing in any other genre. This is not Art but pretty, fluffy, useless muzak, and so are her silly, sugary videos. It's the mid range for real female singer which Mariah Carey is not. A Contralto being the deepest for women. Really go see an opera or a musically. You will then learn and know what more about singing.

The reason that Katherine has not made it in the US is that no one here has heard of her. I was privilged to see and meet last November In what was essentially a night club with about 300 people. IN LOS ANGELES!

There was no virtually no publicity, and the only people there were regularr PBS

Viewers and people who checked her website, or an American fansite.

I have even met several Sarah Brightman fans who haven't heard of her..

And I suppose none of us should intimate that he's the sole determinant of world's best songstress. At this point, and to my ear, JE's voice and delivery is more pleasant and inspiring to me, than anyone else's (all older than her). I am not an opera fan (I lack knowledge in that area). I am also not certain (fearful?) that JE's voice will always be so pure.

@12harby On that point (U.S. ruining many singers/performers), I'm not sure I have enough 'knowing' to either agree or disagree. I do know there are heaps of musicians that I love that have 'made it' in Europe and the world, and not in the U.S. (whether for lack of 'trying' or not): Katie Melua and The Killers (hey, they're American even!), are just two examples. I will be glad certainly, that there is Katherine Jenkins and that she is the way she is, irrespective of how that came about.
