I am getting better at it as I just got a new high score. It's over 85,000 points since it's my best game on Namco Arcade 12 in 1 featuring Pac-Man. I think my second best was Dig Dug.

Kid, I could easily rip that score and have. But I didn't play it on MAME or any console. I'm talking straight arcade stand-up back-in-the-day. I owned at that game. Undisputed. Most points for taking out the pods. Shooting the core only as an act of desperation. Best part was red alert, knocks the adrenaline up to 11. One of the all-time great arcade games.

Just screw around for too long during a wave and it'll go to red alert, that's what you do ;)

I have to agree that the arcade version is probably harder. Whereas I got 800,000+ and could have still gone on probably, I don't even really get to 150,000 in the arcade.

Damn, I still wish this version was available on something besides plug and play. I like plug and plays effects and lack of engrish voice every 5 seconds. This version also runs faster, I think.

From what I've read its supposed to be possible to infinitely get points at an level 2. So speed runs might be more legit...

"Namco Museum 50th Anniversary" With this game on it. I got it a few years ago. Although it's not as fun as the plug-in-play version.

Ah yes the dreaded 7th level of Dig Dug. I think that level was made just to eat a life. Once you get a good strategy though its not bad until like level 15. What I do on level 7 is dig 2 columns and separate the enemies then I go on the top of the screen and the 2 columns will slow them down. Thats what I do....

I love Bosconian, but the plug-n-play version doesn't have diagonal firing. Looks like it didn't slow you down much, though :) There's a great freeware Bosconian clone called Kobo Deluxe for many platforms.

I hooked the plug n play up to a vcr and recorded the game then hooked the vcr up to the computer to upload the video, or if you have a digital camera you could just put it on a tripod and record that way

That's what i did when i recorded my video, dig dug bosconian and rally x or whatever. but u have to have a flat screen, or a REALLY good camera. Like, one that can take screen shots off a gbc, unlike mine.
