  • nice guns

  • When the sling is in 2 point mode, does it function as one i.e. can the shooter bring the rifle up to shoot it? He only demonstrates that it can go onto his back.

  • @evshootinghigh The short answer is no. A more in depth answer is located in the IAS FAQ on the bottom of the Irene Adaptive Slings product page on the Mission Spec website. I would post it here but it would exceed the comment character limit. Thank you. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

  • @evshootinghigh Yes, you can. I have the sling, I hav reviewed it. As long as it isn't too tightly adjusted, one can shoot from a 2pt. The sling needs heavier webbing though. Mine bunches in the buckles, cuts into the neck, etc. I reviewed the sling with one donated by mission spec. My review was field tested. I mentioned pros and cons. got no response. It is a good sling, needs improvements though.

  • What I cant seem to understand @missionspec1 is that if its a mash hook system, would that connect to any other hook? or would you have to buy a special hook system? I have an agm m16 which is a airsoft gun and I want to by a middle sling point so I can connect it in the middle of the gun any suggestions?

  • @FoxBondage the MASH hook will connect to most hook points that are actual hook points. You may have trouble if you are using something not intended for a hook point. We suggest getting a rigid hook point of some type (especially for actual combat operations) however we can send a larger version of our Buffer Tube Sling Mount at no extra charge (Free) to work on your M16. Go to our website and use the contact form to get more information about this. Thank you!

  • I'd love to see how the weapon hangs (in front) when you let the weapon go. Other then that, I like it. Thanks.

    Triple

  • @Vffr1 It hangs like any other one-point when you let go of it. Thanks!

  • could the mash hooks be romoved and QD sling mounts attached or are they sewed?

  • @Captbuckshot Yes, the IAS can have custom hooks installed. We will even install them for you for Free! Use the contact form on our website to get more information MissionSpecDOTcom

  • awesome except for the fact that if you want to leave the weapon and your in 2 point mode the buckle doesnt do anything

  • At first I was like damn I wish I hadn't bought this thing it sucks! then i was like hmm maybe it just takes some getting used to... Then I was like Alright I'll give it a try at my next op... Then I was like I LOVE THIS THING!

  • It's really turning into a 3 point sling, with less slack than a two point say blue force gear.

  • I want to see him do all that with a vest and equipment on.

  • @BushyX The IAS is compatible with just about any Armor System (OTV / other). You simply need to let lengths of webbing out to enlarge the sling. As with any sling, the chance of it becoming caught on pouches and gear does increase as you add more to your kit. You would most likely never 'sling up' and place the rifle on your back if you were under incoming fire. The 2-Point mode is for situations where both of the users hands are needed (climbing, rendering aid, going hands on).

  • bellzubub

  • cool how much??

  • @packofwolves93 MSRP is $34.95. You can purchase the IAS on the Mission Spec website or from a Mission Spec Authorized Dealer. Thank you!

  • ur cute xD

  • If an Officer isnt going to be driving a squad car with an ar strapped across his chest and if he is thats probably why he crashed. Maybe swat in the back of a truck would be a better example.

  • @95banditLt1 We felt that an Officer in the passenger side of a vehicle was a pretty realistic scenario. You could use many. Soldiers in a humvee. Sailor going overboard and needing to escape his sling. Or your example of a Tactics team in the back of a truck. All good scenarios to be ready for.

  • @missionspec1 Yeah that would be a better scenario, But see 90% of guys riding in humvees that are armored will put their rifles between the door and the seat so they can operate their BFT/Radio or whatever they have in front of them, The other 2 guys riding in the back yeah I can see that. For me when i was in Iraq, it was either the steering wheel or A 240G. Im a more whatever they Issue me kind of guy though. I make due. I like the blue force 1 points for M4s and AR15s. I have one for my AR.

  • Good idea but this would be impossible to use with IBA or IOTV..

  • @Caymanonslaught We have found that the IAS will work with just about any Armor System including the IBA and IOTV. You simply expand the sling. Of course when you add things such as MOLLE Pouches and PALS webbing there is more to get caught and hung up on. But this is true with any sling.

  • I used this on my Benelli Supernova tactical shotgun and it works well. I had to use a longer 1" nylon webbing than the one supplied for the 1 point sling attachment behind the receiver but other than that it works like on the video only this is with a 40" shotgun with 18.5" barrel. I also had to lengthen the webbing using the back portion and not the front one as described in the pamphlet.

  • The gentleman seems very uncomfortable in front of a camera.

  • I ALMOST purchased this sling. Replace the IAS's MASH Hook with Magpul's Lock Jaw and I will buy this.

  • Magpul MS2 is better.

  • @Valkyrie1808 If you're presented with a threatening situation while changing one/two point modes, however, you need to finish the conversion to have the sling in a functional state. You can just drop the conversion in the IAS when doing a one to two point conversion, and if doing a two to one point, you may also just draw your sidearm as the weapon system will still lie flush to your person in two point mode.

  • can you fire in two point mode?

  • @ohmr431 Hell no.

  • @ParkAirsoft Thank you!

  • Question: If your carrying a shotgun and a rifle (preferably an Ar-15) what kind of sling would you use?

  • @2:13, you could just let go and be "hands free." Why sling it around to your back? What happens when your secondary weapon goes dry and it's time to switch back to primary weapon?...yeah, it's slung back behind you. Good sling, bad tactic.

  • @flamengishta Of course it goes without saying that if you ran dry and needed your secondary you would simply drop the primary. If given the opportunity it would always be best to secure your main weapon (if the situation permits). The ability to be hands free is not only an option to use your secondary but also to do other tasks that you need both hands for (climbing ladders, rendering aid to another person, etc). We find that getting the weapon out of the way completely can be a major asset.

  • @flamengishta u mad bro?

  • So thats how they quickly change weapons in video games!

  • Nice intro to your product. How about a link to where it can be purchased. Also, what is the MSRP/ I thought that the 2 point hook up and unhooking was a tad slow...I'm not sure that the connector you are using lends itself to rapid attachment/detachment.

  • Interesting sling, but I noticed that you did not mention the slings ability to be used as a shooting aid either to improve accuracy or control muzzle flip. I have been shopping for a sling but most importantly it must be able to be used as a shooting aid for me.

  • interesting, but took him roughly 2-4 seconds to detatch that thing. a bullet travels around 1500+ feet per second? i doubt the target is even a quarter that far. so the bullet hits u before u even have the button pressed halfway down. Seconds are hours when adrenaline is pumping and bullets are flying. I propose a Magnetic attatchement. That way it's merely a matter of pulling maybe 20 pounds, considering a carbine is roughly 10-15, that's only 5-10 pounds added that must be pulled.

  • @shyla669 Which part are referring to? Unhooking the front MASH Hook? This action takes about 1 second. Or do you mean the entire travel time from the weapon on the users back to his ready position? Either way, you would never have the weapon slung on your back while engaged in combat. Two-point mode is for transport when you need both hands (climbing ladders, rendering aid, etc). You would make this transition from cover. Otherwise the rifle should always be in your hands.

  • @shyla669 so having the the sling in its other configuration will somehow stop bullets? I should order one now.

  • Would be fast if he drank speed cola

  • @TheRyanWrench Testing will begin immediately!!!

  • What about having your muzzle in the air? I know a lot of FOB's in the Army that do not allow you to have your muzzle in the air. You always have to keep it down. I could see times when on a FOB or during a FTX, it would be nice to have your 1 point become a 2 point that you can snug up. Can you flip it around so you can keep your muzzle down?

    Thanks

  • @TheGara09 Under standard configuration it will not go into two-point with Muzzel Down. It is imperative that you check your surroundings as to not muzzel sweep your squad. But again, storing in two-point mode for transport should probably not be done while under stress. In this situation the user would simply drop their rifle to a hang and perform the necessary task at hand. Thank you for your question!

  • Q: In a high adrenaline situation, fine motor skills are immediately lost . How can you focus your attention away from the BGs to try to attach/detach to the front sling point? That could take a long time to achieve, even after lots of realistic practice drills.

Q: Can you just let go the weapon, still on "One point" sling mode, and attach it later, once the threat has been neutralized, or once you are behind substantial cover?

I think the idea is excellent, but the FSP clip needs some work.

  • @Mile66 Of course, you would never take the time to properly 'sling up' your weapon if you were taking incoming fire. If you had to make a transition to your secondary the primary is simply going to fall to the users knees just like any other one-point sling. Two-point mode is a storage mode to allow use of both hands (climbing ladders, rendering aid to another, etc) and keeping the rifle out of your way. The presentation in this video is only to show the complete function of the IAS.

  • Looks functional; great price at $35.

  • Reply to this and I will be happy xD. But really should I get this for CQC?

  • @Matashi911 Asked and answered. Are you happy? :) Very few people will say that anything is better for CQC (CQB) than a 1-Point sling. Free range of motion is paramount in this type of combat. The IAS gives your all of the benefits of a 1-Point with a few extras! Thank you for your reply. Please feel free to send us an email on our website if you have any further questions.

  • Is it possible to effectively fire your weapon while in 2 point mode?

  • @callmetw As it says on the website, no, not in the state that the IAS ships in. One-Point mode is the IAS' battle mode designed to be used in Urban Situations. Two-Point mode is for storage when both hands are required for another task (ladders, rendering aid to another, etc). It is possible to let the webbing out to be able to shoot from two-point mode but you then loose some of the one-point capability. Please contact us at MissionSpecDOTcom if you need more info. Thank you.

  • @missionspec1 Thanks for the response. Do you have any future plans of offering different hardware in the future? Maybe like the HK style hooks?

  • @callmetw Yes, future versions of this and other Mission Spec slings to come will have 'Hook Options'. We do not have a project release date however. If you would like an IAS with HK Style hooks we will install your hooks for FREE. Contact us on MissionSpecDOTcom for more info. Thanks!

  • @missionspec1 I sent a email through your web page. Looking forward to hearing from you.

  • @callmetw Email received and replied. Thank you!

  • WOW! Thanks for the info. I'll most likely be contacting you later today.

  • I bought this sling and it is nice, however the big metal clip points scratch my upper when it is on my back. They should have put some rubber on it or something like that. This sling scratched up my 2300 LWRC rifle. Not a happy camper here. Granted I should have thought things through, but since I only employed the sling as it is intended to be used I am disapointed. It should not scratch the rifle, not the rifle.

I am going to try and see if I can get a refund.

  • Specter 3 point with ERB and CST works pretty well...

  • Is this sling made to support real guns? When I look for more info on this sling it seems that it is very popular with airsoft toys. I have yet to hear it be endorsed or recommended for real world applications.

  • @AKSKSMAN Yes, the IAS was designed for Military Urban and Law Enforcement Operations. All testing was completed with real firearms. It is true that many individuals from the airsoft and MilSim communities have taken to the IAS with much enthusiasm however it was designed completely with real weapons in mind. Most serious Airsoft weapons are identical in weight to the their real counterparts anyway. For 3rd party reviews check the IAS product page on missionspecDOTcom. Thank you.

  • is there a model of this sling that would work for a bolt action remington with bell and carson medalist fully adjustable stocks

  • @fuzz461 We have sent an email to you regarding your question. Thank you.

  • what company is that AR-`4 carbine from??

  • isn't this kinda a 1 point/ 3 point sling?

  • When i got back to the states i bought an AR-15 for recreational purposes, after watching this video i purchased the IAS and not only is it a GREAT sling, its very affordable.

  • Do you think this would work with a full stock instead of a crane stock?

  • @TheJakobnator Yes, full stock will work BUT you need some type of mounting point at the rear of the receiver to take full advantage of what the IAS has to offer. Mission Spec can send you an extra long buffer tube sling mount (which is included) if you contact us via the contact form on our website. Please keep in mind however that this tube mount is meant for training purposes only, not combat operations. You will need to obtain a rigid mounting point for actual combat operations. Thank you

  • @missionspec1 I am using it for airsoft, if I were to take the stock off and put the buffer tube mount around the narrow end of the stock (closest to the receiver) then put the stock back on would the buffer tube adaptor fit around that?

  • @TheJakobnator Most likely it will be a bit to small. But as I said we can get you a longer buffer tube sling mount. Just send us a message on our Contact Forum at MissionSpecDOTcom and we will get you set up. Thanks!

  • nice idea behind it but id prefer being able to fire even when its attached to both sling points the taking off and attaching to the front swivel of the rifle cruicial seconds all in all great idea

  • This solves the non existent Magpul MS3 sling thank you guys ordering it right now!

  • @TigerG2 Thank you for the kind words.

  • I really the sling, but I would be hesitant to rotate the weapon system onto my back in such a manner. Any rifleman should follow strict muzzle discipline, and you can't see what you are sweeping when performing that action. Also, I would recommend designing a front clip that can be released without the use of fine motor skills. It looks like a quality product, though, and I may try it.

  • is this sling addaptable to the us army carver one paintball gun? if so would you please make a video or pic or something because i have no idea how! if you could find out i will subscribe!

  • any good slings for a f2000?

  • i dont like how you have to unhook it while in patrol mode to fire. seems pointless

  • @garrettzkool63 The battlemode of the IAS is one-point mode. Two-point is ONLY for transporting on your back (rendering aid, climbing ladders, etc).

  • @BrentK7 oh ok. i didnt have sound on so maybe i missed that. just seemed kinda sketchy to have it so close but totally useless in a firefight

  • I'm sorry but this isn't a true 1 to 2 point sling. Most other 1 to 2 point slings out there can actually be used when in the 2 point mode to shoot. This is just a 1 point sling that has another attachment so you can sling the rifle on your back. Mine works ok for my AR15 but I have found more versatile slings for it. Just sayin.

  • @missionspec1 the sling is fantastic, however, somethings can be improved. First, make a plastic cover for the hooks so that the hook doesnt scratch the gun. Second, make a pad for the nylon straps. Please consider these improvements.

  • This is the best sling for ar-15. Such a genius design.

  • @Conan117117 Thank you for the kind words!

  • Will the IAS work with a Scar-L?

  • @strik30fd00m The IAS was designed to work with an AR platform in mind. However there are reports of SCAR style weapons being used as well. The only complication that we hear about is the thin molded hook points on the scar can have some trouble accepting the MASH hooks. This can be easily solved with an RIS mounted sling point.

  • I was wondering if any body has tested this over current Army body armor? I'm preparing for an upcoming deployment, and this definately caught my attention. I've been doing research on different slings, and so far this one is a real standout. Looks good in a video, but my question is can you move that fluidly with an IBA on?

  • @illsaintlouis Yes, the IAS can fit over your OTV. You will need to expand it most likely but it will work.

  • @illsaintlouis Yes, the IAS can fit over your OTV. You will need to expand it most likely but it will work.

  • @missionspec1 Thanks for replying back. Another question I had was for the "end plate" that I would need to install on my weapon to use this sling. Now this would be for my Army issued M-4, so I was gonna check with my armorer to see if I can even install this. Is this end plate something I can install myself or would I need armorer level maintenance to equip my weapon with it?

  • @illsaintlouis You will need to check and see if your buffer tube has been "staked" or not. It is doable either way but is a little more complicated to remove the tube if it is staked. If possible having an armor do it is best.

  • I bought one about 3-4 months ago and I really like it... it works quite well... Didn't really care for the buffer tube mount.... just got a magpul one point mount.

But overall this is a great sling for the money and I recommend buying one if you are shoping for a sling.

  • @keylitho That is GREAT to hear. We are glad you came to that conclusion regarding the buffer mount. As it says in the instructions the buffer mount is meant only for temporary training purposes. Only to be used until you can get a rigid mounting point on your weapon. The buffer mount should never be used in duty or combat situations. Thanks again for the kind words!

  • can this sling be used on an M16A3?

  • Where is this sling and all of the materials used on it made?

  • @nickdrak The Irene Adaptive Sling was/is designed, tested and produced in the United States.

  • could a lefty use this on an ak?

  • @redmax28 Yes, the IAS can be used left handed. Simply reverse the operation. Always put your reaction side (weak side) hand through the loop of the sling. In your case this would be your right hand/arm. Whether or not this IAS will work with an AK variant depends on the mounting points on the weapon.

  • Bought two of these slings and have to let everyone know that they are the best on the market. Hands down! Made solid and all the stitching is perfect. I use a front QD mount that make switching even faster. Just have to push the button and go! My only gripe (if misionspec wants to know) is with the buffer tube sling attachment that comes with the sling. Wish it was a little longer so it could fit around an M16 style stock the same way it was made for an M4 style telescoping stock does.

  • @NinjaEchos Thank you for the kind words Ninja.

  • Dude, honestly, this is exactly what I was looking for in a sling! :-) Wow!

    I'm buying definitely!

  • @Qosmios We are glad to hear! Make sure to send pics of you and your IAS into Mission Spec and we may feature them on the website and facebook page. picturesATmissionspecDOTcom

  • Is the buffer tube sling attachment point needed to use this sling or could I use a normal qd sling mount either on body of the rifle or the buffertube?

  • @ihatenoobsauce It is in fact recommended (and noted in the included instructions) that you use a rigid sling attachment point at the rear of the receiver. The included fabric buffer tube sling point is intended only for training purposes until you can attach a rigid point.

  • @missionspec1 awesome! Thank you for the quick reply, I will be surely be picking one up this week!

  • nice. i will be buying this.

  • IMPRESSIVE! I must have one. it has everything i was looking for in a sling

  • @Raneuvfire We are glad to hear you like it.

  • After watching all of these videos I guess I am the oddball, while it seems like in another comment here the SCAR is slightly problematic... However my main question is, how is this sling to hook up to a full length M16A4 type rifle?

Would be interested in seeing if I could replace the one I got on there now with velcro over the stock.

While it is a three point it is only semi reliable I would say.

  • @CMDRSweeper The IAS is adjustable for length of weapon. Instructions are included with the product.

  • @BrentK7 So it would fit for an M-16 type of rifle basically?

Reason I am asking is that I have seen several of these slings that are supposed to fit all rifles, but the moment you introduced something bigger than a G36C (It was a K model actually.) the sling was too short, plus it is rather hard to find something for the full length rifles as these are not exactly brought into Close quarters.

  • @CMDRSweeper If you go to missionspecDOTcom and go to the IAS page you can download the instructions in .pdf form. The length before and after the main buckle can be expanded to fit a larger rifle. There is even a heading labeled "Longer Weapon Systems".

  • "Fucking Irene!"

  • How easy would it be to switch form 1 point to 2 point while using a FNH SCAR since the sling mounts are smaller then on the m4 in the video

  • @theme57 The SCAR has much smaller sling points on the front. Because of this it is more difficult to attach the MASH hooks. Many people get around this by attaching a key ring to the front sling point on their SCAR. The best solution would be an RIS mounted Sling Point. Sadly, none of exceptional note exist on the market as of yet. This is, however, the next product from Mission Spec and is in prototype testing as we speak.

  • @theme57 IAS, I grabbed one, last week, it improved my reaction times with it, I can't believe that blackhawk or 5.11 hasn't already come up with this already.

  • So it isn't really a two point sling then, is it. It is simply a single point sling with a storage option.

  • @nsb22 Correct, under normal (shipped) configuration the IAS' only "battle mode" is in one-point mode. Two-Point is for transport and getting the weapon out of your way when it is not needed.

  • Every someone uses the term "operator" the baby Jesus cries.

This is basically a single point sling with a storage option. None of that fancy manipulation will be able to be done under stress, and going to 2 point mode will not allow you to use your rifle in the traditional manner. Which is the whole point of having a two point sling.

  • @556grave The product page for the IAS states that under normal configuration the IAS is not fire-able while in two-point mode. This IAS allows for easy storage of the rifle when it would otherwise be in the way (climbing ladders, going hands on, etc). With propper training, all function of the IAS are able to be performed under stress. You are correct however that during a panic transition the Operator will most likely release the rifle instead of throwing it to his/her back.

  • I just bought this sling :D

  • Great sling! Nice job! luck whit the buisness!
