  • I am raping the shit out of the replay button. I love how much emotion you can hear.

  • The beatles were far far better songwriters than oasis

  • i had this on a copy of one of the "Lost Lennon Tapes" it's John from one of his many many home recordings from the 70's.

  • I really think I could record a "demo" of Imagine doing a just fair impression of John with "DANCING WITH THE STARS" playing in the background and alot of you would say "That's 'im allright!"

  • kinda' tragic, that ending.

  • Devalue me tricksters & trematodes! I shall travel by elephant throughout rural India and participate in Jharkhand's 3-day festival which entails allowing cobras to bite participants repeatedly to honor Goddess Mansa Devi, oh yeah, yeah, yeah!!! Maketh not the tragedy mine to bed yogurts and eat ogres...Who are you to mention Norbert Meisel whilst I'm eating?

  • Damn...Noel must have watched this to do his cover!! Brilliant

  • @NightCloudless John Lennon was also replaced by a cloned alien double. The aliens took John and Paul and George too soon. May they rest in peace! Ringo is the original and they didn't duplicate him....lol Why? I'll never know why. The whole world is fooled by the duplicates...lol

  • Come on guys. We all know that John Lennon wanted this song to be slower originally. So if there was a "demo", it probably sounded a bit like this.

  • Is John, but is not a demo. This is after.

  • watch?v=3ngRvlCAPQg&feature=related

John Lennon Tribute Artist - Michael J Lennon

  • @NoelCorado0921 he was the singer in oasis now he in beady eye. oasis were seen as the closest thing to the beatles even having ringo son as there drummer. they did a cover of this song but in slow because they wanted to do it in lennon way

  • @knightofjustic "oasis were seen as the closest thing to the beatles" haha by who exactly? by dickheads who ain't got a fuckin' clue perhaps?

  • Comment removed

  • @knightofjustic ringo? hahaha i'll stick with what george harrison said. he was right.

  • @therotatingchinmen and what did goerge say

  • @therotatingchinmen stop dissing Oasis, please, stop, and listen to what you wanna listen to, I'll do as well :)

    peace !

  • LOL he can't even get the chords right for his own song. Just goes to show, great music doesn't come out fully formed like a gift from heaven usually. This demo is a diamond in the rough. Even for these great artists, the Beatles it took a lot persistence and craft and self-belief to fashion crude ideas into those great records we all love.

  • @tenementrock Fool.. This isn't a demo. It was made AFTER. So your "deep thoughtful insight" is useless.

  • @NoelCorado0921 some fucking poser

  • My God. <3

  • Who knew? What a rare treasure.

  • by his bullet point pupils at the end u know he was 'feeling heavy' ;)

  • John is trying to sing like Liam ...

  • @dralder good one!

  • @dralder explain yourself muppet

  • @RossTheTonic -just an irony,

notice the resemblance with Liam Gallagher´s singing style?...

  • Nice! John Lennon... You're the best! I love you.. For ever... !!

  • If i see mark chapman, IM GONNA KILL HIM........!!!

  • Hearing this makes me not care for the 1965 version all that much.

  • Compare with the first take "Strawberry Fields Forever very similar! They are written with the difference in years prau

  • @Roman64005 I love the first take of SF, and I love Johns voice in it better than the finished work.

  • So many Beatles songs have become such a part of modern culture that their individual brilliance is sometimes forgotten and "Help!" is certainly one of them.

  • Bring me so much memory.........I like the Beatles.......they are great!

  • where is the rest of this recording!?!?!?!?!

  • This is John Lennon, but the recording was made at the Dakota circa 1980. Thus, it is not a "demo" as much as it is a brief run-through of a song he had written fifteen years prior. He probably hadn't performed the song in almost that long, thus the wrong chord on the first take.

  • WTF???!!!

    THIS ISN'T JOHN LENNON!!!!

  • @brunito3002 Yes. it is. You are simply out of touch with the hundreds of hours of outtakes and the anthology disc series. In a nut shell,.. you are an idiot,... and just proved it to nearly 400,000 viewers. LOL! Nice job Liver lips. ;)

  • @brunito3002 You are a moron, this is John.

  • This is Lennon- his original conception of the song.

  • John just playing around, feels like a universe truth.

  • it's totally john you fools..... anyone who has heard enough of his music will know that is Jesus Christ... I mean John Lennon...

  • @MisterWite1 I feel your frustration! Youtube is depressing as it reveals how f*cking stupid people are-if you can't tell that this is John then get a hearing test

  • I dont know if this is John or not because certain parts sound like its him and other parts sound like its someone who sounds like him but not quite :/

  • omg

  • THIS IS NOT JOHN LENNON! YOU STUPID OR WHAT??

  • I love it! :D

  • omg, its just like he take drugs before plays piano.

buts john lennon its my idol :D

  • 21 people need help.

  • The Devil liked this

  • the best version !!!

  • John Lennon was a genious.R.I.P

  • someone would have the complete version or would know where it would have the complete version?

  • @elvispresley30 a sort of complete version is Deep Purples cover, which is the way John wrote it.

  • well when its played like this its sad :[

  • That's how Paul played it that time he did a tribute medley to John :)

  • does anyone know how to play this on the piano? its beautiful!!! :(

  • @paulfuckinmccartney Erm, kinda awkward, but... there's no 'fuckin' in Paul McCartney. His name is just as delightful as it is without the swearing, thanks.

(And by the by, what a great voice that John has). :D

  • Any real Beatles fan knows that is John Lennon singing here.

  • Any real Beatles fan knows that is John Lennon

  • I agree with those who say this is, in fact, John...he stated in one of his last interviews that he always wanted to redo "HELP!" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" in slower tempos.

  • "Help me if you can I'm feeling down" WOW what a gorgeous line when he sings it like that. I would give up many things to have heard this as a fully fledged song... I guess we'll always just have to wonder what could have been.

  • Why it's john ?

He needed to repeat the beggining of the song, look to the other demo

At the beggining HELP was wrote for played a sweet song like yesterday.

  • THAT IS F'ING John!... WINNING!!!!

  • @AeroBeatlesDoorsLed ...alright, alright geeeeze...I'm used to ole' school beatles...where John ruled the stage....he sounds a little broken....oh well it happens to the best of us. LONG LIVE THE BEATLES!!!

  • @paulfuckinmccartney

    That IS John...

  • @paulfuckinmccartney How can you not think that is John? It is a demo not like he has rehearsed it billions of times yet.

  • @tjsmith51 I'm sure that's John. His voice is unmistakable.

  • @hobdelan Exactly

  • @hobdelan sad but true

  • @paulfuckinmccartney john had a closet filled with demos he made throughout the years... look up his demos of real love real life im stepping out and free as a bird... ALL are epic....

  • @paulfuckinmccartney Why isn't it John?

  • @paulfuckinmccartney that is John Lennon

  • this is beatiful.

  • GREAT JOHN LENNON, HOW I LOVE HIM!

  • This was done during the Imagine sessions 1971

  • @cutandpaste1

Have you ever heard of personal modesty? i doubt it. you probably go around interpretating everything you read literally. you think he is gonna brag about himself with the media? and the fact that he felt he needed to overcome himself doesnt make him a bad musician. John Lennon did not make history for having a "pretty face" or "cool personally", because he didnt have any of those. He made mesmerizing music.

  • @cutandpaste1 too bad he was politically active, so it didn't amount to nothing. also, shhh

  • @cutandpaste1 John had a habit of degrading himself. As much of a rebel as he tried to present himself as, he was quite insecure, this song is more than a song, it is actually introspective. He once said he never wrote a song until In My Life. Many would dispute that. He also publicly despised his "mop top" Beatle days failing to realize that this was part of what made him who he was at that time. Like so many of us who say "I've changed", he failed to see all his experiences added up to today.

  • Comment removed

  • @cutandpaste1 wow ur an idiot

  • @cutandpaste1

well, then dont even bother commenting here and stating your opinions as facts. People are going to like what they are going to like. you have your own taste, good for you.

  • @cutandpaste1

ok Knowitall imbecile, whats a good musician?

  • This is great! Thanks for putting this up! John lennon was great. No matter what other jealous jerks may say.

  • @cutandpaste1 cant a musician craft his songs in private ? this is for musical interest only , not for the shallow consumption of cretins.

  • good, but, so its too slow...

  • @cutandpaste1 lets be right. I think shit is a bit steep, well actually i think its bloody vertical. Technically he wasnt bach but his lyrics were timeless in some of his songs. "Imagine" will be relevant as long as there is a human race. "across the universe"is a peotic work of art. He wrote "In my life" when he was quite young. How prophetic. John Lennon was a great musician because he was able to put into words and melodies what people think every day. GENIUS

  • @cutandpaste1 I respect people's opinions but that dosent take away from the fact that your an idiot...

  • @cutandpaste1

    lol

  • @cutandpaste1 so what if he said that about himself? doesnt change the fact that he actually made good music, he might of not liked it but us fans did, and thats all that matters.

  • @cutandpaste1

if he's so shitty why is he considered one of the best musicians to ever live? i dont see you doing anything to amount to what he did.

  • Please tell me where I can get the full version

  • This is a wonderful song, but it always makes me sad since he wrote it about his depression at the time. That he just couldn't comprehend or handle the whole Beatles situation that he was in. He felt trapped. Honestly, I would've preferred this version than the original. John always said he felt the original was sung too fast, too commercial and that he never liked that because it was a very personal song to him. Thanks for posting.

  • @bladesofglory12 how is that possible when john first thought of quitting the beatles and felt being trapped from it in 1966, then it was the final straw in 1969, but they werent done until the winter of 1970.

  • @sacramentolove I'm not sure how that relates to my comment? But, okay. And John was just starting to get a bit bored in 66, just like the rest of them. But, then Sgt. Pepper came along and their creativity flowed again, before coming to an end.

  • @bladesofglory12 oh sorry. john really wanted to quit the beatles in '66, but he was too scared because of all the court stuff he would have to go through. but the money then came in which made them a bit nutty to try drugs which maybe started sgt pepper.

  • @bladesofglory12 You know how the music industry is though. Even back then. They made him speed it up for profit. It would've been sweet if they had both versions on the album

  • @TheFracturedCrew Yeah, I know. What a shame.

  • @bladesofglory12 funny i heard he was asked to write a song for the movie and he came up with help

  • @bladesofglory12 listen to John Farnham sing it. He sang it the way John Lennon wanted it to be sung.

  • Esse cara é o cara.. You is my man.

  • it's John

  • Calma..Ele estava compondo ainda, apesar de estar chapado.

  • If he'd have lived he'd have done tonnes of these re-jiggs, this seems a bit high for him at the end though!

  • this wasn't a demo, this was during the Get Back sessions

  • John sounds sleepy, maybe he's stoned teehee

  • @PunkKitty013 I think it's the latter

  • I love you john

  • John always said he'd wished that Help would've been a slower song, but the record company and fans wanted a fast upbeat song.

  • @TDubsesbueno I'm doing a cover version on piano like this the way John intended it to be instead of the popular version . This version is really awesome, if only the whole version was on here.

  • @PopCultureSucks oh thats cool! i honestly like both versions a lot. message me on here when you upload that cover :D

  • @TDubsesbueno okay

  • @PopCultureSucks he lost his pitch there at the end so this is as much as we'd want to hear!!! He'd have changed key of he was going to do it properly.

  • no doubt in my mind.

    that's John Lennon

  • I think Paul does it better, but I like John too.

  • Gosh....All I said was I'd need to see some supporting info. Unfortunately, in all of the criticism of my post, not one critic has offered anything more than your "gut feelings". It sounds like John's voice to me too. Also AeroBeatles said it was part of a box set. I believe him/her. My doubt was because there are "many" Beatles/Lennon fakes on youtube. Enough to question this one.

  • @fishingriver show me one that is more convincing than this.

  • 0:40 the eye of John Lennon, the eye of a genius............

  • 0:40 the eye of John Lennon, the eye of a genius............

  • You can tell that it is John for sure.

Nobody else could ever sing like that.

  • I can tell it's john because it's so stirring. It made me feel just as emotional as he was when he was playing this cry for help that is so well written and sung. Only Lennon can really do that, hardly any man can. I love ya john, i know your voice like my own fathers but i've never even met you. Rest in peace.

  • hallo my John, you are here, forever

  • R.I.P

  • wow this is bringing tears to my eyes...

  • lol if this isn't john then who the fuck is it? The guy who murdered and replaced John? :P

  • @lGnossos perfect response! hahaha

  • woww

  • John. I miss him and George so much and sometimes I can't believe, that they are dead... and I think this while the Beatles were long before my time... I guess, this is what they mean when they say, that some people live forever, as long as we keep on memorize them...

  • I loved hearing that.

  • john lennon trying to figure what tune he suppose to fit in he is genuise about that ..

  • I love this version so much better than the one with the Beatles!!!

  • Obviously John, but to me sounds like a later period muck around (in terms of the qualities of his voice) - possibly when he was indeed feeling down. Thoughts?

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds a bit like me plunking on the piano.

  • wtf of course this is him! you can hear it in his voice<3 i love it! great upload(:

  • WTF of course this is john!!! jesus.

  • he doesnt sound like legend.

he is troubled at the end,, this singer doesnt sound like legend doesnt sound like john //o-o\\ ;(

  • @abhishekWARE You don't usually sound like a legend in a demo, especially when the song is still in construction.

  • @noraacmw This was recorded in 1970

  • @Robotdrummerzzk Where do you get 1970? I am hearing from elsewhere that John Lennon made this a slow song originally, but it ended up being done faster for the released Beatles' version in 1965. Their movie of that year was also called "Help!".

  • @carlmoore19 This is from a demo tape recorded in late 1970, there are other songs on the tape like "How?" or an early version of "Jealous Guy", also songs by Yoko. So yeah, definitely not from 1965. ;)

  • @abhishekWARE lol, this was released in one of Johns Box sets of demo's.... This IS John Lennon

  • this is now when he is solo. When in the beatles it was awesome!

  • @fishingriver It's john believe me. especially when it was released in one of his box sets.

  • @fishingriver yeah, its Lennon, i got this recording way way back from an early CD of demos in 1989.

  • @fishingriver he's said before that he originally envisioned help as a slower song

  • @fishingriver , r u dumb? it sounds like john Lennon's voice to me.

  • @fishingriver It was the way he sung on demos. Listen to Strawberry Fields Demos. The same. Maybe it was after 'a hard day's night' and he was tired. (I'm so Tired) xD

  • 0:28 It's supposed to be "not so self-assured" not "not so insecure"

And what year was this recorded?

  • @sacramentolove And that's why it's called a "demo" dumbo!

  • Anyone know if theres a full version of this?

  • 1970 Ascot demo from John Lennon's piano compositions bootleg.

  • If I was to guess 1980 comeback year...he did many of these demos the last year of his short life............//o-o\\

  • yes that is john lennons vocal. no doubt,

  • This is real.. thats clearly his voice.. I love it.

  • Exactly the way Noel Gallagher covers it. He sure has heard that.

  • /// o-o \\\

    /// J \\\

  • im in a terrible state, i think im a deer lol
