  • A good video of a loco now under restoration, but I think you'll find the bank she climbs is called Miles Platting Bank, not Collyhurt Bank. Collyhurst is the area around the old Oldham Road station.

  • didnt see her boarding .Very low profile

  • beautiful locos, flying Scotsman with her apple green is all well and good but you can't beat a Duchess in crimson lake, just a shame more of the class didn't survive, 46251 City of Nottingham and 6256 Sir William Stanier were still perfectly serviceable and even running railtours when they were scrapped. Sad really that heritage just got thrown out like that.

  • Pity the spoiled Duchess of Hamilton with that bathtub look it has now....!

  • lindo de mais meu amigo ,lindo de mais meu amigo ,lindo de mais meu amigo ,,magnifico ,,fantastico ,lindo seu amigo do Brasil julio gilberto

  • But high vis vests really are anoying, h&s sucks. AH YES, andyg3 but it keeps people alive, as a support team member on a main line steam loco, I'm only too aware how essential it is to see & be seen.

  • perfect shots of the Dutchess! Nicely done

  • nice clip. it just sounds WRONG a steam/air pump on a british engine. br cars could be worse like virgin or one or gner those ugly new paint jobs. take br any day over those !

  • yes it makes you think of big black engines, with shiny red wheels......

  • Beautiful loco, shame its running with BR coaches, would have been nicer with LMS coaches.

  • Ah well! We cant have everything.

  • And not in 'Chocolate and Cream' livery either (NO OFFENCE TO GREAT WESTERN FANS INTENDED). Maroon or Carmine and Cream (aka Blood and Custard) would do!

  • that was so cool ...great stuff Hugh

  • Aah 6233 eh? Beautiful...

One minor thing: if memory serves, it was Saturday 9th March 2002 when she did the Liverpool - York trip (The Yorkshire Coronation). This just happened to be the first railtour I ever travelled on. Great clip!

  • I think I can see myself climbing down from the footplate at 00:13!
