My wife does not allow to switch from her 4 runner 2003 to another newer. She says it is much better than newer and more expensive models compared to dodge, ford and honda.

Only the Limited comes with full time 4-wheel drive & it only comes with 20 inch 60 series low profile tires that have severely compromised performance in snow,& ice. The part-time 4-wheel drive on the other models can't be used on dry pavement. This makes driving in 2-wheel drive necessary for mixed road condition's. The full-time system that came standard on all of the previous models was much more useful to the average 4runner driver who drives mostly on road in wet, snow, and ice.
Just bought a 2011 limited with navi. Wish I was told before I bought it that the navigation absolutely sucks!!!! I should have done research. A 2500 dollar nav cant find my house and a 150 garmin can take me inside. Dont waste your money on the navigation.
4Runner is not only rugged, but the damn thing is built like a tank. Was once rear ended by a van going anywhere I guess around ~ 40-50 mph. No dent, only scratches. The van's front was smashed.
I am toyota lover because it is a quality.The previos design in 4Runner are much better looking especially exterior but new 4 runner exterior is not graceful at all and I dont like it...

Sure, I could have a bmw, lexus or merc. but I like to drive with my head up above the level of the steering wheel instead of buried up my ass

Being a 4 runner owner of the 2 previous versions, I can honestly say this latest version is the ugliest, cheapest looking POS I observed, when comparing it to its previous incarnation. They took the good, applied it to the Lexus 460 (hideously Opriced for what you get), and gave their loyal fans a slap in the face with this thing. Every manufacturer has its peak, and toyota has definitely been there .. but now its time for the downfall. too bad.

But this thing is the size of a Sequoia now, and the new Sequoia is the size of an Excursion! I just picked up a 2002 Sport Edition 4runner and am in love. My second 4runner.

Dude, all you went over is the cosmetic features like the window, the seating, and the nose... I can see the car. I know what it looks like. Not a horrible review, but give some details on the engine, the horse power, the gas mileage, and necessities like that next time. That's the heart of the vehicle, not its good or bad looks.

I own a 2006 SR-5 V-8. I love it. I like the standard full time 4-wheel drive. It does 0-60 in 6.86 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.17. Very useful, when someone tries to cut me off, or to get out of the way of trouble. It will tow 7,000 lbs. It has a locking center differential and a low range for when the going gets tough. I like the aerodynamic styling. No mechanical problems. It's an off-road capable vehicle, so there are a few comprimises, but very few. I like the new model too.
First of all, learn to read and speak English before you comment, you moronic little imbecile. Secondly, getting a ride in one is as close as you'll ever get to decent ride ... so enjoy it. Being a 4runner owner since the 90's , I can truthfully say that it is the end of a great era for this vehicle. going from my 05 to the 10 would have been a step backwards for me. No height control, no 8 cyl, and unbelievably, your stuck with19" low profile tires on the LTD, that would fold like a cheap deck of cards on a gravel road. and the dealer wont change them! Plus, this truck looks the shits from all the corner-cutting since the last generation. I'm actually sad about it...

Toyota is the only company in this class, who retained Body on Frame + Solid Rear Axle. Pathfinder is body on frame but has rear independent suspension. <2010 ford explorer was the same as pathfinder, New one is a joke if you want to take it on above average off-road. Jeep Grand Cherokee also followed the Ford path. So 4runner is unique in this class and I hope this won't be changed in the future. When it's refreshed in 2-3 years, it will be the car I buy.

The 4runner is still a mid-size suv while the sequoia is a full-size suv. and the sport edition of the 4runner has been replaced by a new trim introduced in the new generation 4runner called "trail".
@tonytsui96 I understand that it is "classified" as a mid-sized SUV, but it has dramatically grown in size since the previous generation. It is now the size of a Ford Expedition, the new Sequoia is just humongous. I liked the previous generation the most, personally.
if im going to spend 35k on this i'd just spend the extra 4k and get a raptor because any 4 wheel drive suv needs a lift if you wanna go true off roading and this thing will get stuck in 2 sec on the trails i go on plus im risking my life with their gas pedals
@UNBOXINGCAR Europe has Prado and I don't think there is a much demand for such a car in Europe. As for me Prado is better than 4runner, but pricewise 4runner is a better value.
SR5 is base model. Then Trail and lastly Limited.

@UNBOXINGCAR Europe has Prado and I don't think there is a much demand for such a car in Europe. As for me Prado is better than 4runner, but pricewise 4runner is a better value.
