  • Yuna's 3-3 so rare!

  • @mian416me oh please enough hype on her....how come no one talks bout tara's 3L3L ?

  • @rsageeth what do u mean hype on her? I don't have to hype on her, don't u think so? Tara's 3Lo+3Lo is amazing thouhg not a combo she usually successed. But I love that though :)

  • I love how Shizuka and Midori put triple-triples in exhibitions.

  • Wow Sasha did a 3lutz-3toe? Very rare.

  • Midori is the best by far, height, power, amazing!!!

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Surya ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Midori Ito - greatest female jumper in the history of the sport, her height on the jumps is unmatched.

  • If I see someone from ladies do a triple triple triple in competition, it would make huge history.

  • @filipinoICEsk8ter You bet! I think Carolina did it once in the 2008 world championships (3F-3T-3L).

  • @Tinafigureskating No. She did 3F-3to-2lo. That would be nice to see it. I like hers

  • @filipinoICEsk8ter Yeah, I went seeing it and it was a triple-triple-double but it was still amazing! =D I just can't stop cheering and loving Carolina! =D

  • @Tinafigureskating She jumps really far. I don't even know how she was able to get the triple toe close to the boards. The triple loop is he hardest out of the bunch..

  • @filipinoICEsk8ter is there still a limitation on how many triples you are allowed in one program? If so, I can see why some choose to not do 3-3-3, outside of its difficulty that is.

  • @RevShaqueefa Yes. They have to plan out the program to make it work well. You can replace triples with doubles and use the triples later. It can work a lot better if they do a 3 somthing-3t-3t. Because 3 toe is commonly used for two triple triple combos. You can only repeat 2 triple jumps, one of each being in combination. And this year it's only 2 double axels one being in combo or sequence. If you do a half loop now in a sequence, it's considered another jump. A lot of rule changes.

  • Michelle seemed to have landed the most triple/triples in competition. She's the best overall skater.

  • Midori Ito 3A-3T should be the jewel in the crown.

  • yuna's jump is the best, text book jumper

  • JOANNIE ROCHETTE !! :D

  • Who gave this montage a thumbs down? Seriously? It's great!

  • Wow! Only my favorite two skaters did 3-3-3!!!! And people say that Carolina sucks...

  • @Tinafigureskating ,

I know right? Carolina is finally in a good training environment and she is finally utilizing the system to its full extent.... I feel like she is really good!

  • @MrAmazingness1234567 Yeah, the only bad thing about her is her concentration! She has to keep focused on high competitions like europeans and worlds! She didn't do very well this year in Europeans! =( too bad! I think that she did the right thing on going back to Michael Huth! He's a very good coach and I feel like he's the perfect one for her! All that she has won in her life with figure skating has been conceived by not only her talent, grace, posture and hard working but also by him! =D

  • Kostner ♥

  • wooow!!

  • Midori changes history of figure skating!

She is legend. I have never seen the jump, spin, landing like her this 20 years.

  • kwan the best.

  • Carolina's is substantially cleaner than Shizuka's

  • You are right, stewNWT. Also, Carolina's got better clearance and she doesn't seem to struggle much with her jumps like that of Arakawa. And I think Arakawa's reinvented version of the ina bauer is much better than the original ina bauer.

  • 3-3-3 is shizuka arakawa!

  • Carolina Kostner. Does that answer your question, wintersnow?

  • I see, that girl is Carolina Kostner.

    Thank you waddleduckie1 ;-)

    She is nice.

  • all these jumps are great.

    (without underrotated jumps)

I think, Kim and Konster's 3F-3T is the best.

Their speed is just fantastic. I always thrilled at their 3F-3T.

  • Wait, why didn't you put Mao Asada's 3-3-3 combo in here?

  • because of too much underrotated. I think, She was too young to full rotate. but, It was good trying.

  • The ladies of figure skating are amazing. They can't do quads or triple axels, but they replace those jumps with even more difficult jumps (3 sth-3loop) Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a single man land a 3sth-3loop combo

  • Mao asada can do triple axels! And Miki Ando has landed quads! But most women can't so I see your point!

    =)

  • i like kostner, arakawa, irina and tara are really great jumper. they have many kind of 3-3 combination.

  • and midori ito, too!

  • carolina & shizuka's 3-3-3 is just wow! and a really love 3-3Lo. Sarah and Mao's 3-3lo is great!

  • みどりの3Lutz-3Toeも無いですね。

  • why isnt midoris triple axel triple toe in this?

  • Really good!! I loved it!

  • great video. goodness, i'm dizzy after all of that!! :)

  • carolina's and yuna's were the best in my opinion

  • Amazing!

  • Yeah... Arakawa baby!! 3-3-3!!

  • Some idiot called Shizuka a 'chinese' woman. How dull must he be!

  • Carolina is the best! Her combos are magnificent!

  • Kool!!

  • i like the fact that they put michelle in so many times...

she is definately in the top 10 for doing 3-3, it's just people dont realize it!

  • Don't you mean 3-2. Top 10 for 3-3 HaHa!!

  • a lot of these never actually happened...

  • yu-na is the best

  • surya is the best

  • Too much Michelle Kwan! I love her dearly but she will never be remembered for her triple-triple combinations (unless you count the times that she needed to do them and ended up doubling the second jump).

  • I agree wayyy to much Michelle Kwan!!

  • tara, sasha, shizuka and carolina are the best!

  • Tara is the best!

  • great arakawa and kostner!!

arakawa did 3-3-2 at worlds and exhition 2004

arakawa did 3-3-3 many times in practice as did kostner

yuna never did or does 3-3-2, let alone 3-3-3

  • great Yu-na and Carolina.

  • arakawa & kostner the best: 3-3-3

    wow

  • great video but a lot of michelle kwan =)

  • Amazing!

  • yu-na kim 3-3-3 ?

  • shizuka arakawa 3-3-3 ?

  • nice video!

  • it was a breeze, lol, that was wikid

  • I never knew that shizuka did a triple triple double combination on specials. That's wicked considering its not a competition

  • great video!

  • after the "3sth-3loop" sign appears, who's the first girl to appear??

    grat vid

  • Yes, not only Caro has the best technique, but her jumps cover more ice than everybody!

  • Those 3 3t 3l combos are short. A 3s 3t 3t or something ending in a 3t 3t would be more pleasant and easier to do. Great piece you put together and it seems if Carolina would only be a bit more consistent then she could dominate. Her 3/3 look very smooth clean and good flow.

  • Great vid, by the way. Thanks!

  • Hey, they're all a 1/4 turn short! (Just kidding, mocking that tired old criticism. Most aren't and who cares anyway.)

  • Hey guys, open question: how does the COE account for 'half loop' triple triple combos (such as Tara Lipinki's Ttoe half loop Tsow in Nagano 1998)? Personally I think it should be just as valuable as triple toe combos, cause you're still buggered if you blow the first jump.

  • Under CoP, a half loop between to jumps makes it a jump sequence because it is not a scored jump, subjecting the jumps to the normal .8 sequence multiplier. A half-loop combo is obviously much harder than a sequence (though not as hard as a pure combo) so that is probably why they have basically disappeared since CoP.

  • Thanks for the well explained reply. I agree it's a shame, cause it would definitely spice up the possible combos available beyond the toe/loop.

  • i love carolina kostner

  • Me too!! watch her 2004 sp from dortmund.

  • where are all the best triple toe-triple toe's ever : Krisztina Czako's ?

And where is Ito's triple axel-triple toe ?

    Good job though, thanks

  • Michelle has not landed more 3t3t than anyone in competition. She peaked in the mid to late 90's, where she was landing 3t3t (this video shows quite a few of them), but you need to remember that Midori Ito has skated in many competitions and was landing this jump combo when she was 13 (1982). She did the 3t3t in nearly ALL of her competitions from that point on, which means we are talking about 20 years at least of 3t3t. I don't any woman has come close to that.

  • Hey also, I think one of the most overlooked and probably important historical TT's is Kristi Yamaguchi's triple lutz triple toe way back at the 1992 Olympics. I didn't even realize she did that until I saw it on youtube.

  • I love Kristi and remember the LP but I think it was triple flip and triple toe which is quite amazing, too. She was the most consistent jumper.

  • The video is on here on youtube - it was a lutz-toe combo, first up in her program.

  • i stand corrected, midori has more...

  • I love Carolina Kostner's triple triple, such awesome flow. Michelle Kwan actually had a nice one when she just went for it. Mao asada is so incomparable. NO ONE does triple triples like Shizuka thouugh

  • no Surya Bonaly attempted a quad toe loop not salchow .

  • It was still ratified though, and she is credited with being the first woman to land a 3-3-3. BTW, I just wanted to say, this is a really amazing video!

  • Surya Bonaly and Miki Ando have both attempted and landed Quad Salchow.

  • So, as it stands now, Carolina Kostner has completed the most difficult jump combo ever in ladies' skating with her 3flip+3toe+3loop in practice, which is worth 14.5 base points under COP.

  • Mao Asada has landed a 3-3-3 in competition at the Japan Nationals, in 2003 (I'm not positive about the year though). I first found out about it on Wikipedia. I think it was a 3F-3L-3T. The video is up on youtube, under mao asada triple-triple-triple.

  • surya is the best

  • What an unusual media for this figure skating montage theme. It goes nicely with it! I love Riverdance very much.

  • I don't ever wanna hear anyone complain about Michelle Kwan and her lack of triple-triple. She landed it a lot.

  • Very good video, thanks!! I didn't see Arakawa's BIG POTENTIAL until now!! WOW I'm impressed!! My TOP 5 female IceSkater: Midori Ito, Surya Bonaly, Kristy Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinsky, MaoAsada!! The sixth Arakawa!

  • great vid!!...music suits it actually;p

  • You should add Caroline Zhang's triple-triple as well. I heard she recently landed it in her SP. The ladies field is going to be more interesting, I think.

  • arakawa is god!!

  • I like to see a triple axles and the combos in here as well....

  • triple axcel by midori ito, tonya harding and mao asada must be included! :D

  • actually I love the music. suits this! a lot of fun!!

  • great vid! and I love the choice of music! But now I can't get up from my computer, beacause i'm so dizzy, like I was the one doing all those jumps:P

  • Carolina KOstners 3-3-3 combo is so cool and so is Shizuka arakwa 3-3-3 they both roc.

  • Hahahaha... this is a funny video! I thought the music went really well! It sort of further perpetuates the dizzying nausea as it gets more and more intense and the titles have more and more exclamation points. Can I just say, ARAKAWA is BOMB!

  • Carolina's jumps are absolutely the best!!!!! She is so fast and elegant and her jumps are quite beautiful!!!

  • they are they look so perfect, maybe because she spins the other way.

  • ...And where was MIDORI ITO's TRIPLE AXLE TRIPLE TOE that she did in practice?

  • Arakawa-san is god!

  • I've seen Harding doe a triple axel triple loop in practice!

  • I hate to tell you... you forgot to include Yu Na Kim's lutz/ combination if she had one...

  • Viewing this makes my head spin. But if you explain it further maybe I can enjoy it more.

  • cool video! my fave is also Tara's 3loop-3loop! Jenny Kirk also did 3toe-3toe

  • I knew there were more errors, but I was focusing more on the revolutions and take-offs.

  • Nice video. Some jumps were underrotated, some were improper take offs like Cohen's flutz.

  • About Meissner's improper toe-loop technique, do you mean she pre-rotates it, like she's doing a toe-axel? (I think that's what my coach called it at one time, anyway.)

  • LOVED this! Thanks for posting. However, you forgot to include Amber Corwin AND Kimmie Meisner. Corwin's 3toe-3toe was always her most consistent jumping pass, even if she WAS barely able to do a 3 lutz.

  • I've also seen a 3-3-3 from Asada Mao, but yeah, it was underrotated. It was during the 2002 Japan Nationals FS.

  • you re right, we may be talking about the same one. I didnt know if she got credit for that one or not. If not, then is there ANY 3-3-3 jump that was given full credit during competition?

  • Sonydale, you didn't include Asada's 3-3-3 from her junior competition. Could that possibly be the only one officially landed in competition?

  • I think my fave at the moment has to be Mao Asada. Her 3F-3L appears so completely effortless; very light and confident landing. Compare to say Miki Ando's 3Lz-3L; very powerful and aggressive combination. Anyone else see what I'm talking abt...?

  • i agree with you. maos is very light and graceful. =] mikis is really um... yeah. but its still good.

  • Yes, that's true. But when she was young, Ando's 3Lz+3Lo was not as "powerful and aggressive" as today. ;o)

  • Diana Poth has a wonderful 3T + 3T combo ^_^

  • michelle kwans is good

  • you forgot Kimmie Meissner!!!! =O lol

  • Ah, yes, I can definitely tell now. Didn't click at first.

  • Great compilation... its like a walk down memory lane :) One very "old school" 3t-3t -> Debi Thomas at 1988 US Nationals. I love Carolina Kostner! Her jumps scare me though... she so fast and close to the boards that I think she'll slam into them. Waiting for her to pull a Midori Ito and jump into the boards. I've seen CK do 3-3-3 for fun in practice at the 2003 Worlds in DC. She was just a youngin' back then.

  • Who was the first girl in the 3-3-2 section? Don't recognize her.

  • great music :D i love riverdance

  • this is great! actualy the music is nice...

  • you should have included mao's 3-3-3, but anyways great video. Mao and Carolina have the most elegant triple triples!

  • well, shizuka does too

  • oops, i forgot to put her, thanks for pointing that out ;)

  • ur welcome. Whos are u a fan of?

  • mostly mao asada but i also like yu-na kim, mirai nagasu, caroline zhang, shizuka arakawa, and nobunari oda :P

  • me too. but i like shizuka and yu na the best

  • I think carolina kostner made some clean jumps in the 3- flips toes loops combo... the 3-loop seemed miraculously effortless. Just to let you know.

  • Just Carolina Kostner and Shizuka Arakawa can do a 3-3-3!!!!!their the BEST!!!!

  • YEAH!

  • midori jumps are the best :D (seriously, dont argue with me on that). so much height.... D: and she takes very little time to get in her 2nd jump. quite astonishing.

i can definitely see why the loop is harder to use as the second jump >.>

  • Carolina Kostner is great! wonderful com 3-3-3!!!

  • Great im glad ur fav jump is 3 loop 3 loop from tara coz mine is 2 i rekon shes tha best u shuld makew a montage of her just doing her 3 3ples i mean coz ur great at makin vidios nd it wuld be great 2 watch!thnx neway xxxxxxoooooo

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!

Amazing to see just how many times Michelle landed her triple-triple in competition. In the grand scheme of triple-triples, she was quite consistent on it, actually.

  • that was so awesoem! Love it! great toe tapping music to show the incredible athleticism and I love how you capped it off with triple- triple- triple. you are great at making skating vids! Keep it up!

  • I like how you had the whole string of michelles triple-triples :) this was cool!

  • Wonderful!

  • this is great.
