I had a natural birth with my son 13 hours in labor and took me 30 minutes to push him out he was 9 lbs 4 oz 21 inches long :) and I'm blessed to not of had stitches :) I gained 50 lbs with my son and lost almost all of it but I still have that annoying pouch of skin :(
I have a cute true story for you: I knew a couple from church who went through invitro to get pregnant. Greg was a Navy liason officer to NATO . A couple of weeks before the due date, he came to me and said that he didn't know if he would be in town for the birth. I said; "The Navy's been telling sailors for centuries that you have to be there at the beginning but not at the end. Shirley said;." He wasn't there at the beginning!" LOL
only gained 15 lbs this time around(second) and I lost that and 5lbs after but I still have the 30+lbs from the first one:/ After the first, I didnt care about my figure( I had PPD), now that I'm finished having babies and see my ugly bland wardrobe, I want to get back to my old weight/shape. Going about this in a healthy way while Bfing is a challenge.
I am one of those women. I gain about 12 pounds per pregnancy. I gave birth to my third child 6 months ago and now I am only 90 pounds. Which is kind of sad because that is a little to skinny so I will probably have to stop breast feeding soon.
I gained a total of 40lbs during my pregnancy, my baby girl is turning 1yr on the 29th and I still have 10 more pounds to lose! (I'm 23 yrs old) It's so crazy ow slow it's coming off! I think I will be expecting another baby before I lose it all, oh well, a woman has only so many years in her life to experience childbirth, so I won't worry about it too much :-)
I gained almost 50lbs in my pregnancy and after I had her I lost about 16lbs of baby, fluid and blood (eeww I know) but I have not been dieting or over exercising since. I gave birth to her about 2 and a half months ago and go by the "9 months to put it on, 9 months to take it off" Im a mama natural and eat healthy and organic so it will come off when it wants. I think its normal for our bodies to hold on to the weight for breastfeeding.
Round 1 it took me over a year to lose the weight. Rounds 2 & 3 I was back to 'fighting weight' by about 6 months. How? Breastfeeding. HOWEVER... it took a little longer for that skin to catch up with the weight loss. End.
I never got back to my pre preg weight after my first son (started at 130 ended at 181) and I'm trying to get below my pre preg weight from my second son now (started at 199 ended at 239) am currently at 215.
i weighed 115 b4 having my baby girl and in my 9th month i gained up to 150.after having her 6 weeks later i went back down to 120.and just kept eating healthier and stayed realy active since i was nursing and had to stay busy being a new mommy! and my tummy went back.but still had a lil belly on me.but now i have two toddlers and another one on the way in 4 months! lol.
I walked, exercise and swam a lot. Also I delivered my baby girl naturally and have been breastfeeding exclusively since she was born. These factors combined led to such a great result. Though I feel good looking in the mirror, it bothers me when strangers praise me for being so skinny. People, the goal of becoming a mom is a healthy baby, not a skinny body!
• I got my body back exactly one month after giving birth. It was a big surprise when I put my pre-pregnancy jeans on. I anticipated that I would return to my previous shape in nine months as it’s written in books. I think partly it was good luck, but mostly that happened thanks to my regime during pregnancy. I gave birth at 31 and didn’t rely on my ability to get my body back fast as young women can do it.
Baby number 1=50lbs. Bounced back maybe 20lbs. Lots of extra skin & body will never be the same because of so many stretchmarks. :(
Baby number 2=10lbs. (Actually LOST unhealthy weight during this pregnancy by eating very healty.) Baby's just fine :) It's all about portion control and consciously watching what you eat. I couldn't feel better!
Hope to be even smaller after breastfeeding and continuing a healthy diet!!
I gained 62 lbs w/ the first and managed to lose all and much more within about 2 to three years. . . I just had my second, Aiden, three and a half months ago and gained about 45 lbs and have about 15-20 lbs to lose. Interestingly, my first son was an emergency c-section, and this time I was able to have a successful vbac after only a few hours of hard labor, no meds, (I was 9 cm when I arrived at the hospital), and only three pushes!
prebaby body... what is that?!? lol my ob never instructed me about anything really including weight gain. this time my midwife has been monitoring my weight and since it goes on slow and controlled well i hope it comes off too. :)
With me i gpt my body back. A week after i gave birth. And continued to loose weight. After loosing 40 pounds ive decided its time to gain some weight which in some way seems so much harder than loosing weight! I put on 25 durring my pregnancy. So you can imagin the extra weight that came tummblin off. I can only say one thing. Breastfeeding!
at 11 days after giving birth, i had a flat tummy and was at my pre-pregnancy weight. i didnt do anything to lose the weight, i actually had an increase of appetite. maybe it was cause i was so young? i sure was lucky though! :)
I always heard that weight loss was a great perk of breastfeeding, but that didn't happen for me. I distribution gain that much while pregnant, though, so my main issue isn't weight, it's flab! My tummy still looks deflated! The hubby is sweet though, and constantly tells me I'm beautiful. :)
I'm still searching for that prebaby body...its in there somewhere. Although I did have to put the diet and exercise on hold for baby #2 (20 weeks already!) I plan to get back on the search for my old body after he arrives!
I'm also thinner! By 10 days pp I was at my pre-pregnancy weight and then I kept losing very very slowly until my son was about 9 months old. I'm about 15lbs under right now, and haven't exercised once (beyond normal daily activities with my son)! Breastfeeding every 2 hours around the clock for a year (and counting) really can work miracles!
I haven't had a baby yet, but my girlfriends have told me that after pregnancy and birth, they viewed their bodies in a different light and that weight loss seemed not as prevalent as before. My sister-in-law actually said "My body just endured the most miraculous thing and I don't hate it like I use to".
I'm still working on it! I only gained 20 lbs & By 2 wks pp I had lost 15 lbs...but when my baby was about 1 month old i started Gaining weight very rapidly, I made appt. to endocrinologist (she was booked for 2 months so I had to wait...) finally when I got blood work done my thyroid was out of control...(I have hypothyroidism)... =/
Went up to 30 lbs from pre pregnancy weight although i breastfed my son til' about 8 months old...now my thyroid levels are almost back to normal & I'm looking
I dont think ill ever get my pre baby body back, ive got new curves and rolls I didn't have before! But, with the help of nursing and a dance class 3 days a week I got to pre pregnancy weight at around 5 months PP. I am still working on the toning though, I have a muffin top as well.. but I definitely embrace it!! Along with my stretch marks!
I haven't had kids yet, but I imagine to lose my pregnancy weight, I'll continue to eat healthy and exercise. Not sure if I will have to kick it up a notch or not, but I'll take it as it comes. Speaking of which, I have finally gotten around to working on my own videos! Please feel free to pop by my channel and check it out. :)
Aaah I loved when you said "Embrace it" ! I was thinking you were going to say " the main thing is you got a healthy baby out of it" like most people say and I don't like. :p I got my pre-baby body back I'd say 3ish months after I gave birth. I wasn't expecting it nor was it a healthy way of getting back, but I did. I way 6lbs less then I did pre-pregnancy. :) I still have to tone and I will be good to go.
Absolutely love Larabar's! Dare i say it but i think i'm one of those women who is thinner than what i was pre-pregnancy. Believe me that was not my intention but i exercised throughout my pregnancy and breastfeeding really does burn calories! I got back into shape within 6 months and still exercise; not to lose weight but to maintain strength and good health.
Wow everyones giving birth this year lol, i remember telling you i was pregnant, and i gave birth to my daughter serenity on october 30th :) she weighed 5 pounds 11 oz and i did it naturally! and im only 16! i didnt think i was able to do it! and i wasnt even in labor that long, best part it only took me 7 to 10 minutes to push her out :) im really happy everything went well
Skinnier than pregnancy? Does that really happen? I have stretch marks all over, even close to my knees... sigh... but all of that is worth it when I look at my sweet girl. I find I don't have the time to exercise now... Kudos to the mamas who do, but I am focusing more on eating healthy and enjoying my baby. I will probably start exercising when I can get more sleep... my girl still wakes up every 2-3 hours to feed, and she is almost 10 weeks old.
I had my daughter at the age of 18 and never got my teenager body back. I did however lose all the weight. But my hips, tummy, legs, and breasts were forever changed. I nursed my daughter for 14mths and weaned her when I was 2mths pregnant with her brother. I nursed him for 18mths, then weaned when I was 6mths pregnant with their sister. I went on to nurse my youngest until about 3-4mths past her 2nd birthday. I am not 2mths pregnant with baby #4. I have been pregnant and/or nursing for about yr
@anjomi1986 cont.....I have dedicated my body for the health of my children. If saggy boobies result in chunky breastfed toddlers and a big strethced out belly results in a full term baby....then its all worth it to me. A day will come when I have the time and desire to focus more on my body. I eat organic and exercise and my BMI is healthy. That is what really matters to me in life now.
It took me a good 9-10 months to get down to my pre pregnancy weight...however, my body will never be the same :) It's okay though! I wouldn't trade my son for anything :)
I've lost 30 pounds in a week but still flabby as ever :)...Im super happy that this is my first mama natural video i have gotten to watch since having my son
Almost 9 months and still these 5 Kg to lose. I'm still breastfeeding, but it doesn't seem to help me lose weight at all. I guess each body is different. I'm in the process of getting into the habit of running mostly to tighten the abdominal muscles.
After giving birth I can honestly say I did not have the motivation to go out there and ¨get my body back¨ however I have had a habit of making wise food choices, and since moving to spain, the mediterranean lifestyle and all of the walking everywhere took its toll...I think its the greek yogurt and bread, but I was back to pre-pregnancy and even down to my highschool weight by about 1 year post partum ... we will find out next time around if it was just luck or not :-) those bars look yummy
I'm 5 months PP and am lower than my pre-pregnancy weight, but definitely don't look or feel the same. I have been working out 3 times a week for 2 weeks now and feel like I'm on the right track.:)
I was pregnant with twins and gained 55lbs. I delivered them early at 29 weeks on June 1, 2011. One son passed away at 6 weeks. Since I have had some challenges (my husband is in Afghanistan, death of one twin, bedrest for 4 weeks)) I just started working with a personal trainer. I was fit before I got pregnant and just cant believe how badly out of shape I am in. I still have 20lbs to loose. Although I am breastfeeding, I have found that the weight is really hard to get off. Wish me luck!
@love2nurse Wow, hon, you've been through a lot in this year. Stress can be really hard on our bodies so easy does it :). God bless you and your family.
I gained a whopping 20 kilos during pregnancy. It didn't help that I'd wolf down jars of Nutella ;) I have since lost 15 kilos but still have another 5 to go. I'm breastfeeding and that has helped a great deal. I also just started working out and doing cardio. At 16weeks postpartum I'm happy with my progress.
I'm 10 weeks postpartum and while my waist is about the same thickness as it was pre-pregnancy, my body is a totally different shape. I gained about 40lbs during my pregnancy . I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to fit back into my pre-pregnancy pants. I went from being a 0/1 pre-preg, and currently at 7/9. Eep.
Pox parties? That's a tad odd for me, however I am among the group that would rather my child get chicken pox then get the vaccine! Thanks for the video!
I haven't given birth yet... I'm about 5 weeks away from that (I'm due Christmas Eve), but I'm hoping to get the baby weight off within a couple of months or so!! I'm afraid to see how I'll look after this baby comes out!
At ten days postpartum I think I'll avoid the QOTW ;-). Thanks so much for the shout out, Genevieve! And loved the quote from Amy Adams, so refreshing!
@LaureninPortland My pleasure! Just added an annotation in the video telling people to head over to your channel and check out your labor and delivery videos. Good stuff.
I lost 15 pounds when I was pregnant so I only ended up gaining 20 pounds during the whole pregnancy. I'm back down to my pre preggo weight but I'm still working on getting pre marriage weight off! I wanna win!!!
I am curious to how I will look after I give birth to my first baby this February. I was considered underweight when I got pregnant and still struggle gaining weight. I have only gained 15 pounds and I am 28 weeks pregnant!
I was overweight when i got pregnant with my son, gained only 20lbs, then had him and lost over 40lbs. And thanks to breast feeding I kept it off for over a year and then started gaining it back. :( So I am now back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but that is still overweight. So I am now back on my diet journey here on YT. :)
I was over weight when we got pregnant with the twin, and after a year I started to lose the weight. I was 30 pounds down when surprise!!! I am pregnant again with miracle baby three, I have only put on 16 pounds with this pregnancy so hopefully my pre-pregnancy weight lost not be in vein. I think it's important to remember what you have accomplished, YOU MADE A HUMAN BEING!! and to give yourself a beak if it takes a while to get things looking close to what the original packaging of you was.
I was a bit overweight when I got pregnant...so I didn't put on too much weight during the pregnancies. I have two children 14 months apart. It took me 4 months to get to the second baby's pre-pregnancy weight. I'm down an additional 30 pounds since then and am now in the healthy weight range! Yay!
i actually kept a fair amount of my weight on UNTIL my daughter was weaned, but i'd say within a year and a half, i was back to normal. in the end, i'm proud to have these wider hips...they might just help me out with the second. :)
haha!!!! i had 2 c-sections and i wasnt skinny person before pregnancy. i am lower than my prepregnancy weight but I think I will always have a C-section flap
Stuck in a rut trying to loose the baby weight (almost 8 months later). Even with Brest feeding and my healthy eating habits my body Just won't let it go!
Just had my second in Aug. I lost all my pregnancy weight from breastfeeding within 2 months...Still workin on my weight from my 1st, if that makes sence!
I never did get back to my pre=pregnancy weight before becoming pregnant with Baby #2 (due is 6 weeks). I will definitely try a bit harder - I will need to be my healthy best to take care of 2 boys under 2! However, a good friend of mine told me not to lose the weight too quickly, as my lap now needs to be wide enough for two. :)
I'm not afraid of the side effects of the vaccine for chicken pox, I just think it's better to contract the disease naturally--you have longer lasting immunity and no boosters needed. Also catching chicken pox later in life is more dangerous anyway (which you mentioned). PS--It took me 12 weeks to get to my prepregnancy weight and i'm currently 90 lbs lighter then my prepregnancy weight.....but still have that saggy belly :-(
Took about 11 months to get it off. I didn't stress about it and it came off easier then it ever did when I was on a diet:) A happy mind makes for a happy body!
I don't really remember exactly how long it took to get back into prepregnancy shape, a few months I think. I worked very hard from the day my girls were born to get back into my jeans! I refused to buy any in a bigger size! I stuck to a pretty strict healthy eating plan and it came off eventually, let's hope it comes off with this one!
I was back to my pre pregnancy weight at 2 weeks, but not my pre preg muscle tone... very different things! I couldn't really eat after giving birth for a while and was a nursing fiend so that is what did it... Still haven't gotten the muscle tone. We'll see how I fare after this next baby pops out! ;)
@ObbsAndLala oh i know how you feel, I'm in the exact same situation. Allison is 16 months too and had lost the weight I gained with her when she was a few months old, but now have gained it all back.
Aw what cute babies featured! An answer to the question of the week: I was back to my prepregnancy weight by 11 weeks postpartum. Now (5 months out) I am about 5 lbs under my prepregnancy weight. Thumbs up for Breastfeeding!!!!
With my first pregnancy it took 9 months to get my body back. My last pregnancy was 6 months ago and I'm still dealing with trying to lose the weight. With breastfeeding I'm not trying too hard though because I'm terrified of my supply dropping.
I had my baby in June. and with the help of only eating right and breastfeeding I was back to my pre baby weight and size in 4wk. and now 5 months later I am smaller then i was when I got married!!! I LOVE it , who knew breast feeding could be such a great "diet".
I had my second child 15 months ago and I'm pretty much in my old body now;0) But I didn't stress over it. I took lots of walks and ate healthy but I'm still breastfeeeding so I didn't restrict calories, I just ate healthy.
i was much thinner after my first child than i was before. i had my third back in august and my stomach is pretty much the same, but my booty isn't letting go of those extra pounds.
I haven't gotten my tummy back yet since '09(when my Griffin was born) but I am still 3 weeks out from a c-section(with his brother, Spencer.) I'm hoping to be more on top of exercising when I can, but with two boys, it probably won't be the priority.
I have two girlies, 9 & 5. Not sure I will ever get my pre-baby body back. LOL! I have a muffin top that will NOT go away. I have named each side. I call them Mo & Jo. And they won't pack their bags and go! Any pointers out there?
I gave my child the vaccine id rather her have the vaccine then the shingles when shes older they also make a vaccine for that as well for the elderly. Everybody has their own opinion and have to make the decision for their kids
My son is 4 1/2 momths old and I don't want to lose anymore weight. I was 95 pre pregnancy (I'm only 5"1 and always been small) and I'm currently 101lbs and am very happy with that. For the post part my tummy isn't too and but I can't wear form fitting shirt because my pudge will stick out. I basically just want to tighten everything up! I think what's helped me is breastfeeding and daily walks! Also living on the second floor of my apartments.. Those stairs really do me in lol!
I just had a baby 3 weeks ago oct 29th and i have my pre-baby body back already! It is all because i am a vegan and i am breastfeeding. I think diet and breastfeeding play a BIG role in losing baby weight. The good Lord knew what he was doing when he created us!! It was a 2 day labor and a home birth. I am 24 so that could play a major role too. I have no baby belly anymore, looks just like before. I was all belly anyway i did not gain much weight all around. God is good :)
I have a ten week old. He is my forth. It is taking me some extra time to get back to my old self this time. Breastfeeding often seems to be the best way for me though.
Someone is going to hate me, my son is 12 weeks old and I weigh less now then when I became pregnant. I contribute this to healthy eating and some great advice found right here on your channel. Thanks Mamanatural!!!!!!
My baby girl is 4 months old and I'm still working on getting back to my prepregnancy size. I'm just trying to accept my body right now and not go crazy until...after the holidays...not sure when I'll be fed up with my body right now.
I didn't get chicken pox until I was 13 and it was sooo bad. I was so sick.

LouLousLife 3 months ago
@LouLousLife I'm also thinner and the only thing I can attribute it to is breastfeeding. I'm an active person but not hitting the gym.

Almost 9 months and still these 5 Kg to lose. I'm still breastfeeding, but it doesn't seem to help me lose weight at all. I guess each body is different. I'm in the process of getting into the habit of running mostly to tighten the abdominal muscles.
khardala 3 months ago

Eep.

Hello!
It has taken me a year to get to my EXACT pre pregnancy weight. The ONLY thing I did was BREASTFEED!
I am also a vegetarian, but didn't stick to any healthy diet, just ate when I was hungry!

PS--It took me 12 weeks to get to my prepregnancy weight and i'm currently 90 lbs lighter then my prepregnancy weight.....but still have that saggy belly :-(
Jlk6532 3 months ago

We'll see how I fare after this next baby pops out! ;)

I haven't gotten my tummy back yet since '09(when my Griffin was born) but I am still 3 weeks out from a c-section(with his brother, Spencer.) I'm hoping to be more on top of exercising when I can, but with two boys, it probably won't be the priority.
