  • that was fucking beautiful!

  • Amazing song!!! And it sounds too much better with Vintersorg even alive!!!! HAIL BORKNAGAR!!!

  • it`s greittttttt!!!!!!!11

  • Devin Townsend is the best vocalist on the planet IMO.

  • Who the fuck is Devin Townsend.

  • @Wyndrax WHAT?

  • my god! thats who he is

  • I can't believe some of you people left out ICS Vortex!

  • @Mordgorond i'm so glad he's no longer with dimmu borgir,he along with Ihsahn is my favorite Norwegian metal vocalist, maybe we can get some new Arcturus or he can join Borknagar full time

  • Actually, rumor has it that he will restart Arcturus after his album comes out this fall. I hope, I hope, I hope.... ;-)

  • @harrymanbach Wikipedia says he joined Borknagar full-time again, but I'm not sure how true it is. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

  • does anybody know any other this kind of albums

  • Good music can be translated across multiple media.

    This is one example.

  • Best metal vocalists, in no particular order: Garm Vintersorg ICS Vortex Mikael Akerfedt Mikael Stanne Chuck Schuldiner Jari Maenpaa Pekka Kokko Richard Lederer/Michael Gregor (aka Protector and Silenius) Some are on the list for pure talent, some for a combination of talent and influence.
  • thanks for the list

  • stupenda

  • Vintersorg he's a really good singer, amazing, yeah, that's true, but vortex.. well, IMO, FOR ME he's better... not talkin about technical stuffs and shit like that.. i mean, emotion, tone of voice, particuliar interpretation...

    this' my opinion

    Bye!

  • Sure, they both are amazing, the best vocals in metal world i think. But which of them is better? Question-as teach us these few pages of comments - isn't easy and usually is the spark which light a fire.

For me answer depends on individual songs. For example.. 'The Stellar Dome' from 'Empiricism' or 'The Wonder' from 'Epic' are simply created for V's voice but for example Oceans Rise(metal version) would be nothing without powerfull and strong Vortex's vocals...

and that was my opinion : )

  • Nah, I'd say Mikael Åkerfeldt and Corey Taylor are as good as these, but theyre all great in different ways. :P

  • Akerfeldt is, Taylor is a good singer who sings in one of the worst bands on the world, which is a shame.

    Garm is really good too.

  • Misclicked, meant to vote you up. But yeah, Agreed.

  • thx dude! ;)

  • simen and vintersorg should have been signing this one together. the musical quality is of version is above the limits even my dad loves it.

  • In a acoustic version i actually think Vintersorg is better than Simen, because simen got a more powerful voice who match a little louder music. But, it could have been interesting.

  • Vintersorg is good singer, I own the Empiricism album and it's very good album! :) But 'Oceans Rise' acoustic version? Well, it's guite good, but if Simen would've done vocals here in acoustic version like the original version, it would be better imo :) I own albums Quintessence and The Archaic Course and I would say that Vortex was better singer for Borknagar! Vintersorg is good singer, but his voice isn't so amazing than Vortex's! :) It's a pity that Vortex left Borknagar for Dimmu Borgir...

  • *Textlimit exceeded* Forgot to mention, Dimmu Borgir is also a great band, especially their older stuff! :) ISD album was a disappointment...

  • i agree with you. i think this version of this song would be better with simen on the vocals. im not saying that vintersorg is bad but in the beginning he sounds like a preacherman and in the middle of the song he sound pretty pop'ish

  • im gonna have to agree with you both. Vortex is obviously a unique singer; so is Vintersorg. But Vintersorg was simply born to record this acoustic version.

Vortex wouldn't have been able to pull off that "rise" at 2:34.... that alone makes this song great

  • Vintersorg is a great vocal as Garm and Vortex...

Vinter's own works are really good, and with this album i finally appreciate his work in borknagar :) well done... But it's hard to say if the original version of this song would be better with vintersorg instead of vortex :)

  • vintersorg.? that is borknagar! form the album origins

  • yeah sure but with vintersorg in vocals :)

  • fantastic song

    (Vintersorg rulez!)

  • Just bought the album today. Love it.

  • Just like the original song, it's still badass

  • 8,049th view *proud*

  • 8,049th view *proud*

  • Stunningly beautiful, I'm on the verge of tears. This band deserves nothing but worship.

  • when i look at the hole, it looks like its going smaller all the time o,O

  • easy .. the white between the black spot .. ya eyes fight against an illusion :P .. like spiro or something else

  • i didnt get that... nvm :D

  • when i look at the hole, it looks like its going smaller all the time o,O

  • i am very impressed.

  • great song!!

    great band

it impressive the bass on this song... specially on 2:25

  • sounds folky

  • its great how a black metal group can have such heavy lyrics but then do a version thats softer like this. If only other bands understood the importance to do this.

  • Ain't that the truth

  • magnific version

  • the whole sound traditional indian music..except for the vocals....hehe

  • exelent!!! ... Borknagarrrrr

  • men andreas sing this version ... not ics vortex ... i like the thwo vocals... is really good...

    thanks

    From CHILE

  • supporting vintersorg from Chile!

  • dude.. this album is the shit.. i can trip for hours.. i just need a ton of weed.. i fucking enjoy listening to cynosure

  • ive never heard this version. i love it.

  • gee dude, that's only the image of an eclipse... it's not that 'amazing' at all. The song is though. I like the oldest version better but this one is well rendered into acoustic.

They should make a real clip from that song.

  • dude amazing video! wich program do u use? i use windows movie maker and it sucks your video is amazing i like the quality of the sound and well...video (image)that its not pixelated what do u use!? i want to know chek my tribute videos and they truly sucks you are gonna laugh of me xD well greetings nice work! +Warlock+
  • i used windows movie maker

its really not that hard to do man

i just put some picture i found with the song...and thats it

  • This album is so different from the normal borknagar... i really don't know if i like it or not.

  • Yes, you do! ^^

Give up your "trveness", which nobody cares about anyway, and start liking music which deserves to be liked.

  • Heh, there's one song that i really like on that album though, "White".

  • What is the instrument in the beginning? it stops at 00:14 and goes again at 00:33.a flute?

  • a flute...

  • @moloch1349 Jethro Tull eat your heart out!

  • Wow! I remember seeing these guys live in 1999, and this is very very different.

  • Quite a different version.. whence is it from ?

  • its from 2006

    its on the "Origin" album

they just kinda remade a bunch ov there old songs but acoustic for this album

  • Actually, this one is the only remake on the album. The other songs had never been published on earlier discs.

    I love this album.

Yeah, it IS different from what Borknagar normally play.
