we watched this at school! we got cards and had to guess what happend to the people. my brother got cassie bernall and i got isiah. i tohught they commited suicide becuse the teachers made us guess what happened now we do rachels challange. an anti bullying program. we have this banner tha tsays "I ACCEPT RACHELS CHALLENGE" and i saw my namee :) they read everyone who accept it and when they said "Tyra ______" im like "THATS ME!" everyone looked at me

I have become so sick of people claiming Eric and Dylan weren't bullied. I have researched this case on a professional level. I have studied every detail many times over. Those two were bullied. If they hadn't been bullied, the Columbine massacre would not have happened. People need to do their research before they make claims that they weren't. Stop reading 2 minutes into a case and thinking you know enough to form an educated opinion on it.

I've studied it since it's happened and have kept up with it as Jeffco Sheriff's Dpt. released further evidence to the public (all released with exception to the basement tapes, which will stay sealed until at least 2028). I have however read through the transcripts of those tapes several times so I feel I'm informed enough to make an opinion on the subject.
@amazingrubberducky With that said, yes they were psychotic, Eric even more so. Yes, this was the ultimate underlying problem which caused the massacre. However, bullying was a big factor which escalated their hate enough to carry it out. This is well documented in the journals they left behind as well as in the basement tapes transcripts. Eric rants about how people rejected and left him out of things. He also says if they hadn't so much, the massacre might not've happened.

He implies that he might not carry through with it in April if people would start including him in things. Their's no denying he was a true psycho for what he did that day but their was alot that contributed to him finally carrying it out. Same with Dylan, even though surmountable evidence indicates Dylan was ultimately just following Eric's lead, but of his own free will, of course.
Their are worst cases of bullying than Columbine and bullying doesn't at all excuse this kind of retaliation. However, it is a clear sign of just how deeply bullying hurts. I know this because I went through the worst bullying of anyone I know and today I still carry the scars and hate for my bullies. School massacres are a cry to society to stop the bullying.
I strongly urge anyone who hasn't seen the film "Bang Bang You're Dead" to watch it. It is the best, most realistic depiction of bullying within the American School System today and shows the effects it has on students. I've seen alot of movies relating to school shootings (Elephant and Zero Day to name a few) but none come as close to home as Bang Bang You're Dead. The video footage scene brought me to tears. It's a very deep movie and one of my favorites.

@SkunkyAngry Nothing "garbage" about it. Just because your school didn't have similar cliques in similar situations doesn't make the depiction garbage. In my school, we had a very similar group, which would show resistance to the jocks' bullying. Columbine's TCM were also very similar to the Trogs. It wasn't an actual "battle" but it was a group of outcasted kids coming together with a common hate for jocks. That move was VERY realistic for many schools across America.

My friend is like that, and i try to help him with people doing simple things, like bumping him when thye walk (weither on accendent or on purpose). I do not agree with what happened at Columbine, but it seems nobody takes the time to think about the shooters' own tragedies. Their choices were horrible, undoubtedly, but they were also victims at Columbine in my mind, at least. RIP to everybody who passed away during the tragedy.

@xRipzo His name is Brooks Brown he was friends of Eric and Dylan. He did not know what they were going to do that day because they did not tell him. They did not have their guns. Eric was taking out the duffel bags when he told Brooks to get out of there go home. Brooks Brown wrote a book called No Easy Answers which he told how they struggled at school and how they were bullied, etc. I researched it and it was Fred Savage that was in the library and they let him go since they knew him.

Rachel's father came to my school about three years ago. My high school is still hanging the Rachel's Challenge banner in our cafeteria. It affected me greatly and I want to thank Rachel's family for coming and talking to us. My prayers still go out to every one affected by this shooting.

I have become so sick of people claiming Eric and Dylan weren't bullied. I have researched this case on a professional level. I have studied every detail many times over. Those two were bullied. If they hadn't been bullied, the Columbine massacre would not have happened. People need to do their research before they make claims that they weren't. I've studied it since it's happened and have kept up with it as Jeffco Sheriff's Dpt. released further evidence to the public (all released with exception to the basement tapes, which will stay sealed until at least 2028). I have however read through the transcripts of those tapes several times so I feel I'm informed enough to make an opinion on the subject.

@amazingrubberducky With that said, yes they were psychotic, Eric even more so. Yes, this was the ultimate underlying problem which caused the massacre. However, bullying was a big factor which escalated their hate enough to carry it out. This is well documented in the journals they left behind as well as in the basement tapes transcripts. Eric rants about how people rejected and left him out of things. He also says if they hadn't so much, the massacre might not've happened.

He implies that he might not carry through with it in April if people would start including him in things. Their's no denying he was a true psycho for what he did that day but their was alot that contributed to him finally carrying it out. Same with Dylan, even though surmountable evidence indicates Dylan was ultimately just following Eric's lead, but of his own free will, of course.

Their are worst cases of bullying than Columbine and bullying doesn't at all excuse this kind of retaliation. However, it is a clear sign of just how deeply bullying hurts. I know this because I went through the worst bullying of anyone I know and today I still carry the scars and hate for my bullies. School massacres are a cry to society to stop the bullying.

I strongly urge anyone who hasn't seen the film "Bang Bang You're Dead" to watch it. It is the best, most realistic depiction of bullying within the American School System today and shows the effects it has on students. I've seen alot of movies relating to school shootings (Elephant and Zero Day to name a few) but none come as close to home as Bang Bang You're Dead. The video footage scene brought me to tears. It's a very deep movie and one of my favorites.

In my school, we had a very similar group, which would show resistance to the jocks' bullying. Columbine's TCM were also very similar to the Trogs. It wasn't an actual "battle" but it was a group of outcasted kids coming together with a common hate for jocks. That move was VERY realistic for many schools across America.

You can see the outcasts dressed like that and in groups pretty often. Just take a walk through any high school 15~30 minutes prior to homeroom. @xRipzo His name is Brooks Brown he was friends of Eric and Dylan. He did not know what they were going to do that day because they did not tell him. They did not have their guns. Eric was taking out the duffel bags when he told Brooks to get out of there go home. Brooks Brown wrote a book called No Easy Answers which he told how they struggled at school and how they were bullied, etc. I researched it and it was Fred Savage that was in the library and they let him go since they knew him.

Rachel's father came to my school about three years ago. My high school is still hanging the Rachel's Challenge banner in our cafeteria. It affected me greatly and I want to thank Rachel's family for coming and talking to us. My prayers still go out to every one affected by this shooting.

I remember this like it was yesterday, I myself had just graduated the year before 98. I always think Why did they do it? "oh they were bullied" yeah who isnt? Man the fuck up boys. It doesn't matter how bad they were bullied that's if they were, because no one will ever know the exact story. Life is hard get over it. Having the heart to do such thing only comes from a sick criminal mind. The better question here that no one argues about it, where were the parents of these teens? I mean buying guns and making pipebombs at sixteen is not of a normal teen. How can the parents neglect a child to this point? At this age is where parents are suppose to care more for their kids.
