I really think that the Leafs have talented players. I don't know if its management, the team understanding, but any match I watch where toronto are playing the main problem I see is converting chances. I saw the game where leafs beat flyers and the first period was just shot after shot after shot, with only one or two goals. Flyers also came close to a comeback. I think its just nurturing new talent and making sure the current team has a better understanding. again, this is only my opinion.

You'd give away a player who in his rookie year has scored 11 goals on a team mired with subpar play, who is earning the minimum amount of money in the NHL. He's fast, he can handle the puck, and you'd just give him away, all in the name of cap space and letting "someone better" play? You sure wouldn't stand a chance at building a hockey team, dumping rookie players like that.

The goaltending I don't think was that horrible...the defence was just non-existent...it's like they played the entire first period 5 on 3.

Gerber, yes he played bad, but I was looking at the goals, and the defence is nowhere near the puck...Kubina and Ponikarovsky going away from the puck letting the other team go right to the net...UGH.

no steve this is not the START of something positive that came when the leafs not only kept their #1 pick but also added 2 2nds a conditional pick in 2010 and a 4th rounder from the lighting (even though they lost that 4th rounder)

this is the CONTINUEATION of the road back to resctabilty, and eventually hopefully cup champions.

With Tyler Bozak and Christian Hanson it's like getting two second rounders. Maybe Brian Burke can use the two second rounders we've got in this years draft to move up. We won't get a John Tavares or Victor Hedman but judging from what Burke has done in the previous couple draft days Evander Kane, Matt Duchene or Brayden Schenn are possibilities.

Ruegsegger was having a pretty good year for DU when he got injured.

Signing college free agents is a smart idea for a team with a weak farm system. The interesting thing is that the Leafs haven't signed draft pick Chad Rau, who has finished his senior NCAA season. He's a bit small and apparently a weak skater, but he put up good points and why draft him and let him walk away? Might as well see if his skills translate to AHL/NHL.

Anyways, the game was very entertaining for me but the Flyers D was not as good as I hoped they would and Marty also did not have a very good game.This game was the result of Paul Holmgren putting his boot up the ass of Richie and Carts.

As for the leafs Schenn played pretty well but rookies need to learn not to mess with Hartnell. YT the fight between him and Borer.
