Go to your local guitar center and pick up every cymbal made by Agazarian... Their whole catalog shouldn't cost you more than 150 dollars. With DnB, the worse sounding it is... The better.
well... if u use live drum sounds its more like that but drum machines can make much more complex beats but that eliminates the "live" sound u know how its not exactly quantized then again... i dunno like u said depends... but i still prefer a drum machine... but go listen to the Individual soul album by D.Kay... thats all live drums..
I wasn't talking about the featured drummer's skills, I think he's pretty good actually..
My comment was in response to "drum machines dont require any talent. you cant be creative on a drum machine."
It's just horse shit. It's definitely a different game to live drumming, but there is plenty of room for creativity in drum programming, you need to go study mid-nineties jungle/dnb, or aphex-twin, or SquarePusher, or a million other drum-focused electronic musicians.
Heinzie, not at all. I'm just unwilling to condem thousands of musicians who use drum machines, as 'talentless' and 'uncreative'.
You're wallowing in your own ignorance. I gave you a few examples to look into, but you chose to ignore them and repeat your bullshit.
If you want to write a critical essay, comparing and contrasting the different styles and genres of drum-machine-related music, and back up your claims, I'll at least acknowledge your opinion. Otherwise it's still "bullshit".
i have improved. not to sound conceited or anything.
at some point i will maybe hopefully put up another vid that shows my progression. it may just be a audio-only one but ill see what i can do.
the snare is 14x10, it used to be a marching tenor drum circa 1950-52, then someone tried to turn it into a side drum, and then i got it. it is a sick mo'fuckin drum. cymbals= sabian b8's (lulz) + a $120 ride with model paint on it. the kit itself is Legion.... never heard of it right?
Tight shit callum, I'll link you one of mine as soon as I get a video recorded. Good tight beat, at least you can play along to a metronome unlike all these haters.
I think this is cool. Have you thought about trying to mix jungle and death metal drumming? I think that's be pretty neat; going for a constant double bass machine gun in the background with junglist stuff over the top.
lulz, this video is terrible. my snare is 14x10 (10 deep) and that's why my snare is angled the way it is. it works fine, i never have problems with the angles. i dont use my toms any more however, they are falling apart.
Fuck all the haters. This a decent enough video. The only complaint I have is the angle of your snare and toms. Makes me cringe haha. Keep getting better is the only other advice I can say.
maybe i'll put up some new stuff today, but there isnt going to be video for it... it IS gonna be professionally recorded though, im at my stoody-yo atm
most people don't understand what this guy is doing. sadly you are ignorant. Much respect to this guy that is pulling off something that most drummers wouldn't bother to attempt and that is to imitate a sample mashed drum loop and @ that bpm it takes a human to the limit - respect - i applaud you ;-)
yeha but he's not even playing drum and bass. plau i don't just click and make drum sound happen accordingly. i also eq and edit track to NOT make them sound like this guy's set. make it sound professional. big ups to this guy making a sick drum solo but don't label it what it definitely isn't jungle/ drumnbass.
sure you produce it on computers, drum machines and samplers, but can you actually play it live? and by live, i mean on a drumset. it's much easier to gain great skill on producing than playing an actual instrument, and no, turntables don't count at all.
don't even get me started with instruments. i play bass, acoustic/electric guitar, some drums, i dj for a living and some piano. not to mention well rounded in sound and music production. i have a degree in sound engineering and career wise im going to nursing school to become , a nurse. so talk shit all you want but if you think you know anything about music and having a LIFE you don't!

Sounds good, but some of those cymbals are rock-based and aren't particularly good DnB material.

Drum machines are nice, but combined with the essence of real drums they are then fine tuned. Trust me I've been producing for 10 years. :)

hmm, yea im still going to go with drum machines dont require any talent and you cant be creative on a drum machine.
heinzie5 3 years ago
It's funny, but that is exactly the thing lots of people accuse live drums of; requiring no talent compared to the rest of the band.
We both know that isn't true, but you are falling into the exact same trap.. anyhoo, fuck off and die :)

making drum beats on fl
using a drum machine
^ statements that mean the same thing. although fl can be more than a drum machine as you can add keys and etc
DjRagingBeast 2 years ago
so they are like the same kinda? thanx
kinglynx 2 years ago
Yeah, except drum machines are real physical objects...used in live performances.
There happens to be a virtual drum machine included in FL Studio but the two words are not synonymous by any means.
