  • He voice actually sounded amazingly great! I was very surprised how well it's held up. He was actually 60 yrs. old when I recorded this!

  • his voice is smooth n polished for nearly 60.His years out of music preserved his vocal cords. You got Steven Tyler falling off the stage & eddie VH with hip replacements at Billys age. you dont see thoe issues at a Squier show. Seen 2009 tour 5 times & was great at all 5

  • there's nothing wrong with his voice douche-bag.....pretty damn good for 55+ years old numb-nuts(iceaxe56)

  • just noticing he is hitting guitar licks instead of singing the high notes--frankie vali uses a girl in his group now-- its hell getting old

  • what happened to his voice?

  • @iceaxe56 Actually amazingly his voice sounds as good as ever. The guy is 60 yrs. old and most artists that used to sound good can't even sing by the time they're 60. He's voice still sounds very much the same as his younger days and still very strong! This was recorded with a small little still camera with tiny mic.... go see him, you'll be amazed!

  • ah the children who are jealiuos they didn't get to grow up listening to REAL music, what a shame. boo hoo hoo.

  • One of the greatest most underrated singers and songwriters the earth has ever produced. I've always loved this song but it never drew too much attention - though it's loaded with magic.

  • @wretchedvonkrank Thanks for the history-never heard of him before, well, Billy Squier. I'll check it out. Yeah he kept it real thru all the glitz, glam and gluttony. He was also keen on keeping his guitar gear retro long before it became revamped to save the dying guitar industry. I often put his tunes on whatever jukebox is near me and he's def. one of my fav rock-n-rollers. The man should be inducted for many reasons but as you can see his sincerity-still rocking! Thx.

  • @bugietube I'd be curious to hear your take on the Piper music if you get it. I was a Junior/Senior in HS playing those albums about 10 times a day! haaa, so I'm a bit subjective on my opinion. I think both of the Piper albums are GREAT all the way through. If you listen close you can hear multiple guitar parts going and all Stellar work. I'm still hoping for a Piper reunion tour from him That would ROCK! best part is he can still sing!

  • @wretchedvonkrank ....Man good to hear there are more PIPER fans than just me left in this world...Yeah we were into Billy before MTV even knew his name...I got the first LP brand new when it hit the racks...Same for the second.....Drove up to Little Rock from La. to see, get this lineup....Piper (opened), BOC and the headliner was RUSH....great concert and Billy blew some smoke back n the day....Take care...Thankful that I was born in '57, and started buying Rock n Roll Vinyl in '69!!!

  • But even in his SNL '84 vid maybe he was just too autonomous and needed a kick in the ass because he just seems so complacent. His studio vocal range would be difficult to replicate night after night and of course, with age-to be fair. But his recorded stuff just seemed so out of left field as far as the pop-culture scene-defying the industry trends of the 80's back then but the more I heard the more I liked and respect him as the great individualistic rock/pop songwriter-performer that he is.

  • @bugietube The PRIME Billy was his days with the band Piper (before he went solo). Piper had 2 albums that were just smokin hot rock, with 3 guitarist (including himself). I saw Piper live 2 times and they were FULL of energy! I'm thinking Billy expended all his energy in those concerts hahaha. I love his stuff though, but you just can't beat the 2 Piper albums. They combined them to one CD, and I would highly suggest you pick it up!

  • Yeah, his live performances seem universally mildly complacent, straying far from his awesome recorded productions too often. His band seems like they're not into it which is sad. That's a great, enviable gig and then sadly what could be undermining his stage fervor is just the typical scenario of the people running the sound production are not necessarily seasoned or talented but just a heirarchy of hipster-or dinosaur a-holes.

  • He's 60 and his voice is in better shape than many other older rockers. He knows how to go over the notes he can't hit anymore. I think he's wonderful!

  • I saw him in Denver awhile back and he was as good as I rember him at the Long beach Arena in the early 80's awesome. The sound quality of this video is not that great...

  • he hasn't aged well and sorry but this is kind of sad and pathetic.

  • @Nickspeak Really? He hasn't aged well? The guy is about 90 yrs. old.... we should be doing that well at his age! PLEASE! Still Rockin... gotta love it!

  • Weak! Sing your song, dude!

  • @LittoShe Weak comment, go to see him live and you'll see him sing plenty of songs!

  • YOUR STILL A HOTTIE MR. SQUIER!!

  • Don't Say Know is a BRILLIANT ALBUM! One of those albums where EVERY song can stand on it's own. Truly a classic & unsung gem

  • Im from Cincinnati and the rock station WEBN played this song when I was in high school. Graduated in 1992 so this was already an old song at the time. but man its timeless. I heard it on the radio for the 1st time in a long time the other day and decided to check it out on Utube. GLAD I DID!!! Billy's songs are timeless and if hes still out there rocking go for it! at least he isnt trying to do pirouettes& falling off the stage like Tyler from Aerosmith. Reminds me of the good old days

  • I'm guessing he has trouble hitting those notes, like when he was a young buck, so he's playing the melody on the guitar. In his prime, he had an incredible range. Damn that old age! I saw him several years ago (opened for somebody) and he did a one-man acoustic thing, which wasn't all that great. I like this better, with a full band.

  • actually still has pretty good vocal range. Age hits them all. But unlike say Aerosmith or Def Leppard...Squier still sounds about the same. Those other guys are worthless live!

  • I can understand his point. I can understand!

  • Billy really needs some QUALITY live material. I've seen him twice and he is amazing. But I have not seen or heard anything on tape that shows his chops. He is extremely underated.

  • He has 2 DVD's of love concerts available. 1 from 1981 the other from 1983

  • Thanks for posting this!

I was there for the 7/29/09 show -- vist my site and I'll take you backstage on this tour (see my channel profile for the website URL)

  • did he just skip singing the chorus twice and think nobody would notice?

  • If you notice, when he didn't sing the chorus the first time he was egging the crowd on to sing it! The idea was that he wanted the crowd to sing the chorus (since everyone knows it) , and he just plays the melody on the guitar.

  • I saw Billy last night in Jim Thorpe, PA....he was awesome as usual...thanks for posting!!!!!

  • Thank you
