@kikkadmafiosa Because the swordsman he had brought in from Calais to execute her had been delayed so he had to postpone the execution until he arrived.
i dont understand.... how could she be accused of adultery when henry deemed thei marriage null and void...then wouldnt that mean, that the adultery didnt even count?
From what i know, one of the reasons why Anne wasn't sent to a nunnery was because once Anne became queen she became well loved by the people. She was very generous and kind to them. When Anne was locked away in the tower Master Kingston expressed his fears that a riot may begin and that people would infiltrate the tower to get to Anne to save her. So i think one of the reasons was because Anne probably would have fought for her right at Henry's side.
Poor Anne!!! She did nothing wrong and yet she had to die/ be executed for alleged adultery!!! ... I wish I could help but of course I can't! I can only pray for her soul!!! ... May God forgive her sins and grant her a place in paradise!!!! Amen!!!
@bellableu23 I know... but Henry really was in love with Anne. Henry would not kill someone for that, he wasn't a psychopath. Actually, he really felt betrayed by Anne, and had his pride really hurt, since he loved her and he felt he wasn't loved back, like he was not "good enough". So he took off his anger of the betrayal by sending her to death.
that is just pure torture, getting all the courage you can to prepare yourself to die and than they say not today and you have to go through that all over again
yeah why wasn't she sent to a nunnery instead? she would have lost all her powers anyway and she wouldn't be allowed to go anywhere near court, she could have lived a peaceful life with her "bastard" child, but if anyone can explain why that would be helpful???????? lolz :)
@athaliya Because Anne had commited treason against the king or so he said she did, and treason is punishable by death, if henry let her go then he would have been seen to back down and the common people my have thought the accusations false, henry wanted people to think she was a whore and deserved to die, so that he could marry the lady jane seymour i hope that helps a little, if anyone else wants to help out to :) would be good :) <3
@CMLaneLV agreed, it's the anticipation, the imagining of what could be. an execution only happens once and is short (though whether it's painful, no one really knows). on the other hand, you could die a thousand deaths through your imagination. it's torturous.
@ the description of the video: i wished that too! RIP anne! i cried so much when i visited her grave two summers ago! it seemed i've lost a member of my family. even i f i'm talian i feel her story part of me!
I bet the executioner had arrived but Henry wanted "revenge" on her when all he wants to do is get rid of her and shag all the women he sees. Honestly, if I could go back in time I would go to Hampton Court and shout at Henry so hard, his stunned silene would be very reassuring
chocolatefountain95 no one DARED do that except Anne Boleyn. That is why she was executed. Think about it....she was the ONLY one to say "NO" to the King and tell him it was HIS fault for losing the child b/c of sleeping with that whench Jane Seymour. If you shouted at Henry back then you would have gone to the Tower. No free speech allowed in the Tudors.
I rarely cry but this had me wailing on the floor.

It would suck to get your hopes up and have them crash back down the next day. >< I'm not exactly Anne's greatest fan, but this was tragic.

@afrababes1
he had already divorced one wife. If he divorced Anne it would have looked like Henry made a mistake.

Anne Boleyn was not guilty of the allegetions. Henry VIII just wanted to get rid of her.
R.I.P. Anne...you can be really proud of your daughter because she became a great queen.

I must say again, Natalie played this scene absolutely perfect! I don't know any other actress who could have performed any better or any more right.

Strangely ... an execution delay seems FAR worse than the execution!

That's why I said IF I could go BACK in time. I'd also make sure I could come back to the future again afterwards

You would come back to an alterred future with a 500 year old standing warrent for your arrest an execution. You don't fuck with time machines!
