This game is great but when i watch the battle replays that i save they show different ish' than how the battle actually has gone, i rly want to be able to watch my battle replays exactly how they happened. Any know how or if i can fix that? Or any suggestions...

I play this game on Stainless Steel 6.1. I am the Byzantine Empire. I'm not to good but i have all of Greece,the entire Anatolia peninsula and Isle of Nicosia. My northern border with Hungary is Belgrade, Sofia, Bucharest, Zagreb, and Ragusa. I also quickly took Caffa (Crimea) and I own Naples and Bari (Southern Italy). I am at war with Venice, All of the Islamic factions on Iconium, Kiev Rus', Hungary. I can't expand anymore any tips would be great.

I have no allies (besides Pope).

@LordBraambes, nothing. Rome total war is superior to medieval total war, but medieval total war is still a super game, you should buy it if you don't have it.

I have this game too. Sweet Game!!! Love being Russia (Land), England (Bowmen) or Scotland (Hmm... William Wallace man!). (Being a counrty near the Pope has its advantages too. But so many missions!)

havent picked this one up yet but i always found that in rome its always good to have a front line of basic infantry in front with a few units of spearmen behind in case of cavalry with archers and artillery behind them with cavalry guarding the flanks

In Total 1 at least it seemed as best way to go to place 35% units of spearmen in front, 35% units of longbowmen behind them and 15%+15% cavalry to the sides. Inpenetrateable formation which also worked as an attacker. (while as an attacker u might want to get some swordmen also as anti-infantry).

Those horses are just way too expencive and no match for long spears...

I think it happens when you watch your combat replays. Hides the entire interface with just a handful of tools.

u should try playing stainless steel(6.1) the byzantines have even better armies in there, they get arquebusiers,flamethrowers,lan­tikons can do shield wall, and varangian gaurd have a faster attack

That was a tactic that the Persians used on the Romans, when they first encountered them in battle. First they attacked them with their cavalry and crushed the roman infantry. When they pissed off the Romans, they fled to make the Romans come after them so that the archers on horse can shoot behind them. That's what the roman general said when he saw that, he said it wasn't fair. Then he sacked the Persian empire and raped their women for losing so many men.

My troops consist of all Swadian Knights, Jeremus (Hero) with full int, engineer/Medic, and Myself using a Bow. I do about 50-60 damage per shot with my bow, and I use a two handed as my secondary. I'm only level 26, so 60 damage is tons for a bow.

i played as byzantine once and i onley had like 25 turns left untill i wouid win but the citis i conqured which were all turkish...and rebels i looted them instead of exterminating them...so once my armie won the city there were riots that were so bad i had to abandon the citis wait for the turkish or rebels to take em...once they did i tried to take them back..but i got defeated...so i starting spending my money for my armie and then i was -10258 and with no army i couident loot any citis ={

Their infantry is bad? Varangians and Dismounted Latinkons crash everything in my path. I love their starting position: rich, easy defendable provinces and there is always action with mongols/timurids and crusaders running around. For their weaknesses, mercenaries are easy available.

I prefer to play Stainless Steel, more variety and they get the Greek Firethrowers they deserve. And who needs black powder anyway when these nasty guys are around... ;-)

a charging Varangian Guard inflict 26 ap. a normal knight does at best 16 while charging. only dismounted noble knight have a greater attack.

if well use the Varangian Guard can cut into piece any infantry and static cavalry.
