MS's versions real-time - quicker and less demanding :) my notebook takes all of 35 seconds to loadup from cold thats windows 7 64x, CS5, VMware, msn, AV, and intitial services...

Download CCleaner. Cleans computer of crap and registry cleaner which is 100% free. And Auslogic Disk Defrag is a very good defrag program and is free as well. It gave me a 10% increase on my laptop, no joke. Windows Defrag program not really that good for me.

Deleting things off your hard drive will not dramatically speed up your computer, infact unless u know what your doing u will most likely cause harm to your computer. To speed your computer up you need to look at what is running in the background and at startup. A good way to see what is running at startup is to goto start > run > msconfig, then select the startup tab. None of this is required to boot, u can pretty much untick all of these options (except the ones you want, like your antivirus)

Most registry cleaners are a waste of time at best, and can destroy your computer at worse, if you have a bad registry, it's high time you reinstalled windows, as that will restore it much better than any cleaner will.

Re-installing Windows:

Is there any way to Remove and Reinstall Windows without losing all you Data in your hard drive like pics etc.

If your hardrive is Partitioned can you FORMAT only one parttition or the whole hard drive will be Formatted?

All you need to do to stop losing your data is to copy your "my documents" folder over, as that contains all your documents (unless you save in weird places.

And yes, the windows installer allows you to format one of your partitions and then install windows on that free partition, although you might need to reinstall your boot loader if you've got a duel-boot Linux system (as the windows boot loader will overwrite GRUB).

Type temp press enter and remove anything in that file,

Then Windows + R and type %temp% and delete anyting that's there.

What are you deleting. Well maybe you downloaded a video but didn't completed it or other stuf Windows didn't give you those file are in your temp file and programs are in %temp% file

Defragmenting a hard drive basically means that bits of information are moved around to optimize performance.

When you information is written on a hard drive there are gaps of space in between the data. Defragmenting lessens the space between bits of information which in turn allows your computer to run faster.

My computer is a few years old and with constant updates with apps, it's having a hard time keeping up. I checked it and it appears to only have 512 MB of RAM and I have around an 80 GB Harddrive with 50 Gigs left.

U know whats good. HAHA. I just made a review on Linux. I have Ubuntu. What version do u have? I personally have a 200 gb hard drive, and 100gb is to my vista, and 100 gb is to my ubuntu. But I might remove vista ALL TOGETHER. Its slow, crashes all the time. IT SUCKS! haha. Linux rocks!
