Depends- despite its weight- my burban will get a steady 20 highway- 3/4 tons with lower gears will be worse but any 6.2 should get 16+ MPG. My '82 K10 got 16-18 with a bad injection pump.
The key is that the engine is running 1800-2000 RPM- thats where the best MPG is.
Yeah I have heard of 2wds getting high 20's. Blazers, 1/2tons, and Burb's get around 20-ish. But the 1 tons and heavy 3/4's get lower due to lower gearing. With 4.56 gears, TH400 or Sm465, they get around 14-15. Run real high rpms on the highway.
Is it a 1991 6.2 diesel?
