i've played there and hung out there so much....you can feel the spirits of the "greats" that have played there in the past. the Colored Musicians Club is a treasure.
I remember going to "The Local" with my father when I was a young child in the 1950's. My father played alto sax and was an afficionado of alto genius Charlie Parker. Even as a bad little boy running underfoot, I realized then what a great institution the Local was/is!
