Haigh, from my experience, players who aren't on the transfer list won't go over anything lower than what the club quotes as the price they want on Deadline Day. If you had come in for him before deadline day they might have agreed to a lower fee. It really depends on the player, but I think FIFA programs in a certain "desperation factor" to the deals on the last day.

Can I just say, if you think you have reason to be stressed, try this: you're Chelsea, in 3rd with 82 points (GD of 41). Man United are second, with 82 points (GD of 42). Man City are 1st with 85 points (GD of 31). You go to the Etihad on the final day, and are 4-1 up in the final minute. With the LAST kick of the game, Adam Johnson scores to make it 4-2. You then see that United have won 2-0.

Now THAT'S fucking unlucky.
