actually it is its off of the early years vol 1 or 2. If you dont have those 2 albums i suggest running out and getting them both are amazing you can hardly tell its waits

Yup, VERY early waits, before his official debut - I believe this is from 1971, so that would be two years before "Closing Time". Waits himself says that listening to these songs is kinda like seeing old pictures of yourself with too big ears. :) Several of these early songs were released in the 90's on two albums titled "Early Years Vol. 1" and "Early Years Vol. 2". But I think the full title of the song is "I Want You".

Yeah, he sounds almost angelic. :D I don't think you can find many of his earliest songs on YouTube as sung by him, but there are some good covers of the pre-debut material to be found here. Search for "Lonely" by Bat For Lashes, and "Little Trip To Heaven" by Muggison - both are early Waits songs. Also, a talented amateur going by the name tanDlegen has covered several of the Waits early songs on YouTube.
