He is good, but just because he plays fast doesn't mean that he is amazing. Him, Eddie Van Halen, and all of the other shredders have no feeling in their playing like Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, and Slash. It's just a bunch of notes with no purpose.

That do that because its very easy to do, virtually any rock band from the 80's is just pentatonic box bending, there is really not alot that is skillfull about that. Its easy on the ears i guess but it gets very old very quickly. He is doing more interesting things and thus in my mind is a great guitar player.

Muhammed Suiçmez is i think an amazing guitarist, his solos to me have a great deal of soul that even after many many listens still send shivers down my spine. He shreds like a beast and was influenced heavily by Yngwie(the dude who wrote the song in this vid)and never just sticks to the pentatonics.

It tends to be those who fail at shred and are thus jealous of others who can that say shredding is gay, its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it..Page has some nice solos but there is only so many times you can hear someone mucking around with the pentatonic scale before it gets very very boring. Page clearly wanted to be able to shred..check out the heartbreaker solo, an awful awful attempt at alt picking fast.

Still not done it..seriously just admit you were talking shit :P. Although i really was hoping you would put up a video, its amazing how many people think they can shred when all they are doing is tremlo picking a string and fingering random notes, double picking many in the process...as most youtube guitarists do. Record it, then slow it down and strongly suspect it will sound like shit..but please prove me wrong, clean shredding is always great to see!(do not use a backing track please..)
In 99% of cases the way to shred properly takes alot of dedication with the metronome. Starting at 80 then increasing by 2 bpm every few mins (if ya doing sixteenths)until finally one day you can cleanly play at high speeds.Hence its usualy total bollocks when someone says 'shred is gay, i can do it but choose not to cause it sounds crap', if you are willing to put in the time to shred well, you tend to be the kind of person who likes the sound, you dont just suddenly wake up and can do it..
Hmm metronomage methinks is not about rhythm, its for muscle memory.You get down whatever lick you are practicing at a rediculously slow speed,then increase it a tiny amount and get it down there,then keep going.Thats the only way to play cleanly otherwise it just comes out as i stated above,random sloppy tremlo picking. Theodore Ziras Rusty Cooley, Sean lane, Jeff loomis, Angelo Batio, malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Michael Romeo, all learnt by the metronome,otherwise its sloppyness :P
you dont necessarily need a metronome to learn something slow and practise it quicker
and rhythm is also to do with muscle memory lol pretty much all of the practical side of guitar is i practise by playin along to songs rather than with a metronome, or like i said just keep rhythm by stamping my foot
or again like i said by practising with a full band. i study music at college so i get a full band rehearsal inside college at least 4 times a week and more if we jam outside

It tends to be those who fail at shred and are thus jealous of others who can that say shredding is gay, its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it..Page has some nice solos but there is only so many times you can hear someone mucking around with the pentatonic scale before it gets very very boring. Page clearly wanted to be able to shred..check out the heartbreaker solo, an awful awful attempt at alt picking fast.

Still not done it..seriously just admit you were talking shit :P. Although i really was hoping you would put up a video, its amazing how many people think they can shred when all they are doing is tremlo picking a string and fingering random notes, double picking many in the process...as most youtube guitarists do. Record it, then slow it down and strongly suspect it will sound like shit..but please prove me wrong, clean shredding is always great to see!(do not use a backing track please..)

In 99% of cases the way to shred properly takes alot of dedication with the metronome. Starting at 80 then increasing by 2 bpm every few mins (if ya doing sixteenths)until finally one day you can cleanly play at high speeds.Hence its usualy total bollocks when someone says 'shred is gay, i can do it but choose not to cause it sounds crap', if you are willing to put in the time to shred well, you tend to be the kind of person who likes the sound, you dont just suddenly wake up and can do it..

fair enuf never really used a metronome i do most of my rhythm practise with a band

Hmm metronomage methinks is not about rhythm, its for muscle memory.You get down whatever lick you are practicing at a rediculously slow speed,then increase it a tiny amount and get it down there,then keep going.Thats the only way to play cleanly otherwise it just comes out as i stated above,random sloppy tremlo picking. Theodore Ziras Rusty Cooley, Sean lane, Jeff loomis, Angelo Batio, malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Michael Romeo, all learnt by the metronome,otherwise its sloppyness :P

you dont necessarily need a metronome to learn something slow and practise it quicker
and rhythm is also to do with muscle memory lol pretty much all of the practical side of guitar is i practise by playin along to songs rather than with a metronome, or like i said just keep rhythm by stamping my foot
or again like i said by practising with a full band. i study music at college so i get a full band rehearsal inside college at least 4 times a week and more if we jam outside

Heh fair enough. Being in a band myself (along with 90% of the world) im aware that getting a gig at a non shit hole venue requires having good recordings of your band and a myspace/website. Can i not check your shredding thar?

a tutor got someone to come n see us and he likes us so he gave us the gig
its bein produced or whatever by the people that run the gig

uhuh..how convenient :P, didnt you say you had a gig a few weeks ago too? How did ya get that without any recordings....I have also never heard of a venue doing the production for a recording. What music college do ya go to? I know a few dudes who are in varius music colleges throughout the uk and find it hard to believe someone who goes to music college does not understand the importance of a metronome and claims to have never tremlo picked in their life..despite apparently being a shredder...

yer the one few weeks ago was got through a friend
tbh we do have one recording but im not happy with it so am rerecording at some point. and we had a recording session today but there was no fast jazz lol
mid kent college horsted im on the national diploma course
and ive already told you im not a shredder :P
i can shred i just choose not to lol
and the venue is sorting the recording and everything because theyre releasing a dvd of the event

Thus im now reaaaally curious to see if you can play as well as you claim when you say you never used a metronome...it would be the first instance i have ever seen or heard of a guitarist playing fast cleanly without using one ..haha really cannot believe i bothered writing all this shit! So many people slag off shredders though whilst claiming they can do it all themselves so i thought it was time to make a stand! Ahem anyways good luck with gig, whats your band called?
