  • From what we are experiencing, we've learned that elder financial abuse is like many types of cancer; by the time it shows symptoms, it's too late to remedy.

  • The abuser in my father's home was home was at the helm of my sister's death under questionable circumstances, got her buried without an autopsy, and had someone physically assault the family to keep us away from the funeral.

We are at a great disadvantage because we are moral people dealing with someone who is completely amoral.

  • It's just so frustrating with all this information, and the awareness, costly programs, and departments out there providing definitions of elder financial abuse without any laws helping families rescue the elder.

From what we've learned during this 8 year battle, there is nothing anyone can do if the elder is cooperating with the abuser.

  • My family is caught in this type of absolute nightmare. A non-relative perpetrator moved into my 86-year old father's home 8 yrs. ago and will not leave. Instead of working, he brainwashed my father 24/7 and turned my father against ALL family, including extended family. The authorities have tried to help but cannot because my father is a willing victim. His accounts are drained and the abuser is intent on remaining in the home. He has physically threatened the family and my father supports him.
