7400 and the other harvesters n that range were a better case harvester cause dey were based on a menegle harvester where as that 8790 n the others n that range were there own design which turned out to be shit
@johncollins10090 7800 and down were re-badged mengele machines. I would challenge ANY Mengele machine to chop anywhere near as well as my 8790. See video response above. The design was WAY ahead of the competition at the time. IVLOC, 40K, separate header speed control, one switch to change from grass to maize.
Owned both. The 8790 will match anything current of a similar power. Had mine from virtually new. PU300HD is a must. They are rare because only 66 were made. Maker politics killed them.
a real rare sight, dealer up near me usta sell them o neils never many of them around, heard they were prone to goin on fire, mayb on purpose....... awful sound off it an reel looks awful shook!!
Another great video puled from the depths of Troy history. That machine was the most rickety heap of scrap in action and it even sounds it in the video. In the end they had three of them to try and keep one going. Sam Shine in Adare had them as well and was never happy with them either.
We had an engineer from Case IH staying with us in Bandon trying to get Troys Case running smoothley but he failed to do so. Its a pity because it could have been a great machine.
Looks like Neilus Lehane drivng the harvester!
