i just tried this recipe............ i've got to admit, i haven't had chicken this good anywhere else. Thanks a lot for the recipe and the video! you have a new fan!
I wouldn't call this a simple home curry as a lot goes into the dish. This dish is a masterful recipe that will give you the best outcome. I added some nutmeg and cloves with very good results. Thank you Chef!
Thanks Singh Paaji! I made this and was just WOW! I really was looking for a simple home made chicken curry and this is the perfect one! Thumbs Up if you think the same.
this looks really good.. cant wait til i try this. can you post a shrimp (prawn) curry recipe if you have it... thanks and great recipe. i'm drooling watching this.
This was awsome, now how about my favourite keema mattar and shalgam ghost that my dad in Delhi used to make with passion and to tell you frankly I have yet to taste similar one here in Bombay. Thanks and regards.Dalip Singh
Cooked this today for the family. First meal of 2012. Fantastic, authentic Indian cooking. Can't wait to try other recipes. You can taste the passion in the dish. Happy New Year and Happy Cooking!!
Hi Sanjeev Kapoor, I was hunting around for chicken curry recipes when I found you. To me (Scottish, living in England) your warmth and enthusiasm are a delight. Actually the reason I was looking around was to find out opinions about "skin or not skin". I always leave skin (and bone) on because it tastes much better, I think. However, more and more are skinning. What is the traditional view? Thanks. Ian
excellent recipe. I did this 2 different ways for myself. I tried it strictly by your recipe the first time and I loved it, but the second time I decided that I wanted to thicken it up. I used a coconut milk and a little yogurt. Both were unique and amazing. I plan to make this for my grandfather the time I go over to visit. Thank you so much.
from the morning i had been looking for a chicken recipe to cook..after going through all the channel recipes i came across this..simple, unique and nostalgic!!..i noted down the measurements and instructions from the video and started cooking it..i was a bit skeptical at first because of ll the spices ..but everyone at home liked it very much and my mother was surprised that i could make something so indian and use the spices without going wrong..thanks a lot for sharing such a nice recipe!!
I like that you actually use tomatoes. Most call for paste only. I'll have to give this a try. Curry sauce is something I have come to love. Only thing is some of the spices I am limited on have to order some online I guess. I live in the Southern United states, most health food or whole food type places are the only way for me to get more ethnic spices and items. I will have to check out your other recipes! Thanks for cooking for us!
This is great! I found all the authentic recipe which I was always looking for on Youtube. Mirchi ka saalam was also excellent. Keep it up man. Great Job..:)
Interesting! The use of whole garam masala is definitely the way to go! I do it almost the same way as you but with the exception of the addition of a little bit of curd. I've seen that it helps add some viscosity to the curry and helps the chicken absorb the masalas better. Give it a try when you get some time! Cheers
At last curry chicken with no coconut milk. You do not fry those grinded spices but add into the partial cooked chicken - it is different way of cooking entirely. Can u show how to do tomato chutney? Eat many times in Dubai but can't find it in Malaysia. Thx in advance.
Exactly the way my grandmother (basically from Gujranwala) used to prepare. But, she would roast the whole grains of spices for about 1 minute, instead of 30-40 seconds to give it a light brown color before grinding it. Instead of having a blender, she would never prefer puree but the way as shown by Harpal, just to cook tomato slices in the pan.
This might be a silly question but how could you cook the chicken for 45 without adding any water. mind always burn is it the cookware that i'm using or something else

This came out wonderful. I skipped out on the green chili's, as others in the house don't like food as hot as I do, but all the flavors are there, and it's fantastic.
Thank you Harpal for this great recipe. I cooked this for my friends and they just could not stop raving about it. This is the greatest tribute that you could ever pay your dear mother. Thanks again!
This Is Exactly How My Mom Made It...And This Is Exactly How I Make It....The Only Difference Is That My Mom Puts In A Lot Of Cinnamon And Sugar....So It Makes The Dish Spicy With A Sweet Undertone....Needless To Say, We Are Bengalis...
I Miss My Mom So Much...Thankfully I Will Travel To India In A Month And Get To See Her....Yaay!

This came out wonderful. I skipped out on the green chili's, as others in the house don't like food as hot as I do, but all the flavors are there, and it's fantastic.
