The coolest thing about the 550 to me is that you can read subcool and superheat in real time. No fiddling with the slide rule. I still use my old gauges, slide rule and thermistor thermometer when dealing with R-22.
I agree with fritz, the 550s need to be blown out with nitrogen after every use. I notice that they get oily if you don't. I don't store mine with the hoses connected either. I park them on my old 410 manifold.
@tstatech Yes I agree with you I wont use mine on R22 just R410A, they are so easy to use after I messed with them for a hr or to lol, but now man they rock lol. I'm slow when it comes to digital stuff lol.
