Athos is the worst "actor" in the history of actors! he is a disgrace to them all and this movie..argh.. its like watching a snail run a 20 mile race..
@JRRDPR you and XsoubixritsukaX wouldn't recognize a genius even if he would be in front of your eyes so STFU.John Malkovich is a brilliant actor and also a genius but his geniality is NOT for EVERYONE.
I wish so much that they made a second one showing Phillipe ruling and Louis in the dungeon (or the country if the rumors were true)... I LOVE PHILLIPE!!!!
1) I will forever love this movie, each actor was flawless! ( except the girl who plays christine -.-)
2) Am I the only hopeless romantic who would've liked Philippe to have a love interest? I thought it would be interesting to see the comparing of Philippe loving someone and Louie loving someone... but that's just me LOL
@SVgirl09 Have we succeeded? We think so. Before long we shall have covered with our narratives an enormous period of time; between the "Comtesse de Salisbury' and the "Comte de Monte Christo" five centuries and a half are compresed. Well, we assert that we have taught France as much history about those five centuries and a half as any historian. This passage is from The Companions of Jehu which was written by Alexandre Dumas pere.
@SVgirl09 This passage is from The incredible marquis by Herbert Gorman entitled the soldier of fortune(chapter six) It was natural that Dumas believed implicitly in the magic of somnambulism, in animal magnetism and in chiromancy. No Haitian negro dancing before his Voodoo altar was more superstitious than Dumas. Home, to Dumas, therefore, was an authentically inspired adept in communicating with unseen world.
@SVgirl09 "Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing NO allegiance and acknowledging NO responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." PRESIDENT THEODORE ROOSEVELT, 1906
@SVgirl09 "The minority, the ruling class at present, has the schools and press, usually the Church as well, under its thumb. This enables it to organize and sway the emotions of the masses, and make its tool of them."
~ Albert Einstein, letter to Sigmund Freud, 30 July 1932
I can't help help remembering the actor who plays arthos plays pascal savage in johnny english! I keep on thinking he's goint to speak in an evil french accent!
I like Leo in this movie!! He potrays a sweet, ackward, puppy dog eyed innocence of Phippe!!! <3 I think he is better in this then in Titanic( on my opinion), might be because of the hair...XD
if i was that girl for the rest of my life i would say "i got to hand leonardo a peach" for the rest of my life id say that lol that was a cute moment...leo and his cunning smile
@Linibambini No,John Malkovitch is far from a bad actor.Athos was worn out with grieving for his dead son and feeling his life as a Musketeer was pointless.Philippe became almost an adopted son,in fact I thought his scenes with Philippe were his best scenes

Not his best acting, but his most "handsome" showing yet. Beats his "cuteness" in titanic by a mile!
