@rediromasuperstar i may be wrong but i think the melody of "god save the queen" was the melody of the anthem of prussia first ;) so actually it had german lyrics before - not those right but that's it for "germanized"
Because it is the same melody- well, actually it's God Save The Queen; you're thinking of the song we Americans ripped off from that,. This happens more often than you think...The melody of Austria's National Anthem was basically stolen by the Germans. There are only so many songs out there...
