You're basing it all on another industry. Daft Punk are pretty much high up, yeah, but no one can be the best. One can be skilled. Daft Punk is only not shown off enough to people, so people don't know them too much, and so people don't like them so much either. While as Deadmau5 is always praised now, because he's newer. And Deadmau5 is actually original, has for he has "no genre". He said that himself. He's dosen't base his music on Daft Punk because they're DJ's.

@TheOriginalZero1 Actually most of the singing in the Discovery album was NOT done by Daft Punk, they hired an outside singer named Romanthony. Its even in the credits on movie Interstella 5555 and the handbook that comes with the CD. The only singing they did for Discovery was "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", Romanthony did everything else since his voice is pretty recognizable.

@TheOriginalZero1 Yeah, but as I said all the vocals (with the exception of HBFS) on Discovery were not directly done by Daft Punk. Also I agree with you about the whole Deadmau5 issue. While he didn't actually rip off of Daft Punk, he was definitely inspired by them, he even said so himself. Also, everyone with a brain should realize that Deadmau5 is pretty much house, sure he does just about every sub-genre of electronic music, but its still mostly house.

Hell, they weren't all that popular in their first few years and they sure as hell weren't original. So instead of raging about how stupid people can get, educate them. This has potential. It sounds too cheap though to be honest. You seem to have a good ear, but you have to upgrade higher than Virtual DJ in order for this to have its true potential of being epic. Any time deadmau5&daft punk. or deadmau5&bassnectar get together, Even the shittyest of Dj's can make it sound decent.

just keep in mind next time you put multiple songs together that they're probably made in different keys, which is why this sounds like shit. try switching back and forth between songs, using different samples - not just playing one on top of the other at different volume levels, keeping it simple is usually better, and most importantly, ask your friends if it sounds good before throwing it on youtube. These songs were originally very well made so this mashup has potential - keep playing with it

i would say daft punk is more house-ish. their transition from rock to digital started with them making house (look at thomas bangalters old shit and guy-manuel's knight club) and it has influenced their music today. compare guys le knight club song "holiday on ice" to "around the world" they have takin a technoey touch but their roots are clearly house.
