Coz they are nutters mate. As far as I can see the American right are in no way Christians, their belief in God is simply a way of justifying their intolerance of others who dont believe. Personally im an athiest but i've known many fine christians, muslims etc etc. All i hear from the Christian right is hate, if there is a god i'd imagine he's gonna have some pretty strong words for them & what they've done in his(or her) name.
