This is exactly what Lexus deserves for not using direct injection on the 4.6 as in the LS460. It should have 380HP and that would've made it a lot more competitive.

in canada ...... the lexus gs is very......... underbought..... like people wouldnt buy an executive (mid sized) lexus ..... unless its the lexus es. people usually would rather buy the e class, 5 series, or a6, g35/37, than a gs.

@UNBOXINGCAR2, lol same here my uncle x5 kept on breaking down but thank god he has the extented warranty, bmw owners usually "lease" instead of buy so when the car turn "old" around 50k+ miles that when they turn the car in b/c it will break down and u better have a deep wallet if ur not buyin any extent warranty. BMW = bring my wallet. Nice car overall when they new but after a few years..lol why do u think u dont see alot of older versions of bmw compare to other auto makers???

I'm pretty sure it is. Every new model that comes out in this class, including the Jaguar XFR, is compared to the M5 which is now pretty old.

Reliability wise I think they are all going to be very similar. I have a BMW 550i that never had a single problem. My lease is ending, so I am going to get the Jaguar XF next. No reason to get the same car and the Jag looks cool.

Maybe they didn't want a huge comparison test, but I'm surprised a few competitors were left out. The Audi A6 4.2 Quattro would've been a competitive player, balancing sportiness with a gorgeous interior. The Infininiti M45 would've been a great value and is considered by many to be every bit as sporty and capable as a 5-Series.

Yeah, maybe for 1988!! Jaguar is #1 in the world right now for reliability & customer satisfaction. I own a '05 XJ8 & I will tell you that it is true, newer Jaguars are extremely reliable & very easy to own now as opposed to 20 years ago. I don't know if I believe they are as reliable as a Lexus but my guess is thay are probably about 4th behind Lexus, Toyota, & Mercedes. I wouldn't put BMW anywhere in the top 10! They are crap for reliablilty!

BMW is the world leader in luxury sales. BMW has the lowest sales decline of any luxury manufactor. Actually in Feb 08, BMW outsold the whole entire GM combined in the US. GM had 111,000 and BMW had 113,000 sales. BMW is doing amazing. I mean look in California were every second or third car is a BMW. The 2009 $ 100,000 Neiman Marcus 7-Series sold out..
