From what I've heard, Cliff Martinez played drums for The Weirdos before he played drums for The Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I'm not all that familiar with The Weirdos, so far.

A lot of bands started to play big arenas which were un-heard of. I saw X at the whisky in 79 and in 81 they started playing at big arenas, MTV came out that year and a lot of people where associating the music as punk. You started to see punk rocks in Movies. I could go on forever. The golden age of underground punk rock in Southern California was over.

Pretty sure its "Bop to the Helium Bar tonight" Most lyric sites have 'Bop Chili MMM Bop Tonite', something like that, but I think they're full o' shit. Doubt John Denny ever wrote the lyrics down it's not like he was gonna forget 1 line.

I was blessed to see The Weirdos live. Very cartoonish act but some kick ass music. Strange to see some fans think Helium Bar is their least favorite Weirdos tune. I thnk is was their best. They also did a kick ass cover of Love's 7 and 7 is. Check it out
L.A. 's best visual band, their music was great but it was their live performances you had to see, that is the only good thing about this video because it shows them in action, it is one of my least favorite weirdos songs, there were so many other great ones. if they needed to do a video from this album (action design EP) it should have been the "I feel" song..
I love the weirdos. When they came on stage and started to play... they just knocked you back on your heels and you knew you were watching something special. Dix Denny's guitar work was awesome with Cliff just plugging away was so much fun to see.
