How would you know if the gunman is left or right handed? Assuming his left handed and you think his right handed and preform the same technique you would be in great danger.
@TheWTFers there are variations, but yes that is very difficult to know right off the start. Just have to feel the pressure in your back and take a small peek before moving.
I do something similar on my channel and prefer to go the outside of the weapon arm to avoid his free hand hitting you. Instead of going over the top of the gun I like to push the gun out from me. Either way works I guess.
In all my years of studying martial arts including Ninpo and firearms training I have never seen such moves that could cause more danger to yourself then to the opponent.
Um, yeah, good, but I wouldn't recommend striking with the gun the way he did. A gun punch with the muzzle is ok, but not by lasering himself with the muzzle as he did...
i'd rather use my turning elbow to knock the gun's line of fire away from me, then with the blocking hand grab the underside of the wrist and with the other grab the elbow, and turn the end of the weapon in to the opponent's face or sternum. if he is smart then you have to disarm and shoot him yourself :P
@Klayperson i would grab the gun hands wrist and perform a over the back throw or judo throw then break his ankle and finnally (assuming i had a bean burrito for lunch/dinner/snack ) burp on his face i would either do that or what you said depending on my mood (yes mood)
because some fire arms have floating firing pins it is not a good idea to swing the weapon in this way take a few steps back rack the gun tell them to get on the ground. or strike with front of gun so if it goes off it kills them not you keep up the cool vids... o yeah always comply first
check out the Israeli F.I.G.H.T. disarm you still twist the gun out the same way but u swing your arm under not over. you might like it. also be careful on your second strike you pointed the gun at your gut
i like your technique, but is there a certain way to remove the weapon without having your enemy firing the gun? If the opponent has his finger on the trigger?
A trick many don't know to "self defense", is if you go on defense, you will die. If you are under attack, the key is to attack with all you have until your opponent is INCAPABLE of attacking you any more. This is what I like about this art, from what I see. It reminds me of hapkido, in the way that it focuses on offense, for the purpose of defense. Cool video!
Really cool! I understood the moves well and I like the options of going to the inside or outside. The toss variation looked effective also. I agree with Takeninj about the pistol whip. Non lethal but gets the job done.
Very nice 5 stars. All are good I like the second technique the most it is good that you are explaining to keep the muzzle away from your own body . The second technique is similar to a Krav Maga technique . I like this pistol whip technique of yours too where you are using the weapon to smack the guy .
What sort of martial arts school of thought should one enroll in to learn such techniques, along with other techniques for disarming an opponent of a knife/gun? Or using a hand-to-hand technique to buy time/distance to enable you to draw your sidearm and use it?
Well, this is harder than the last one, but just as important! These are very good, and I was thinking of making my videos like this, since the video camera picks up too much sound.

you're not gonna turn around on me like that without getting shot, pistol whipped, and possibly shot again.

very long to remember if you panicking, mabye to long, and what if the gunner is at, say, medium distence, what then? a ninja died, thats what.

this is all assuming you know what arm theyre holding the gun with
ChuckNorriz420 2 years ago
yes you have to have lots of careful observation. Guns are tricky, you can see how similar the techniques are though right.

jerclan 2 years ago 4
yes you push up on the gun, or inward so the gun points at them.
ShinobiMystic 2 years ago
ArcangelZero7 well, you know what they mean by the best defense is the greatest offense.
jerclan 2 years ago
when you move to the outside, shouldn't you knee to the face for an instant knockout or as a disabling move? plz reply
jerclan 2 years ago 2
Like at 2:15 when they come down just rest that knee on their face, yes that is a great way to immobilize the opponent. Thanks for sharing.

How does one handle a situation where they are holding the gun with both hands, or if they are holding it with the left hand?

hey what if the opponent is bigger than u are? >_>
lukehtube 3 years ago
Make the strikes to vital spots count.
ShinobiMystic 3 years ago
Then you should learn some basic aikido joints locks. No matter how big they are, it will bring them down.
trydium 3 years ago
I agree.
ShinobiMystic 3 years ago
very true i'm an aikido student im 5'11" smaller students throw me around easy and i have a harder time but larger oppenents are easy
32spartan11 3 years ago
Well just attack vital points that are low and easy to get to like the groin. Be tactical.
ShinobiMystic 3 years ago
lol i would not want to be pistol whipped >_> looks painful
lukehtube 3 years ago
pistol whipping, use the gun as an impact weapon.
