hey man is the shure sm58 good for death metal vocals or is it bad cause mine isnt clear that much like whenever i do vocals with mine it doesnt sound clear which i get pissed loool cause it sound like shit !! i prefer singing without mic it sound wayyyy better but the prob is that whenever i jam with my firend they cant hear me and if i use the mic it sound really bad is there anyway to fix this o0 oh and i connect the mic to my guitar amp lool glad if u could help :) and ur vocals are sick \m/

@syksthemonster The guitar amp messes with the balance of the sound a lot. Investing in a proper PA could help you get the sound you want from your vocals quite a bit! :) I love my SM58, it works really smoothly for me. (See my newest video for an example - with proper mixing the tone gets pretty much professional.)

I think i become slowly a death metal listener ...a few days ago i found some cool songs by Amon Amarth and i like it. Twilight of the Thundergod is my favourite song of AA :P

Well,as you know,i´m practising Metal Vocals and sometimes i like to do some growling and i think it makes a lot of fun.... You can growl your "evil" energy" out of your mind....but my parents...well,they don´t like it :D

@Pulvertoastman250 Yeah, that happened to me too ^^ First it was Iron Maiden (lol), then i moved on to some folk metal bands like Ensiferum and Turisas, and in that point i still thought that Amon Amarth is too harsh and heavy LOL. But now, i listen almost everything what is metal, including some Norwegian black metal legends like Mayhem or Gorgoroth :) It feels nice to find new music that you like doesn't it?

@TheNameIsPascal Indeed. The problem with it imo is that even though it fits in the composition, the mixing was hell. It sounds detuned, and I probably should have pitched it up another octave to avoid frequency collision. :/

@ChinoMoreno4life Hehe, no worries. ^^ I've always said that the best inspiration comes from negative things. :) I like to compose off of it, but that doesn't mean I'm like my lyrics in real life (obviously). I just think that songs based on bad stuff often becomes more hard-hitting - they can grab your soul. (Still Life by Opeth is the perfect example of this!)
