so lets hear you admit that you failed at reading and went on a rant about a Russian and a American who had nothing to with being the First american to orbit.
Failure to talk about THIS subject will prove to everyone you like changing a subject and will not admit to your own mistakes.
I mean look now your talking about Jessica Lynch lol. massive change of subject. also U.S Marines did not rescue her. it was the U.S Army.
Actually, Germans were very secretive about their new hollow charges. Propaganda film didnt mention them at all, just ordinary explosives. They even covered with cement and painted places, where hollow charges had been used. Just read article about this yesterday.
Also Russia did not use Russian Airborne forces until 1941 and only in small operations. Later they were used as ground forces, much like the Germans from 1943 and on.
It is amazing how man has been able to wage wars ... considering how much can go wrong ... is war all about how much can go wrong for the opposing side ?...
What a pathetic fortress, only 4 mg's for anti-aircraft protection. They had no battle drill for engaging enemy troops on top of them either. Guns & hoists that didn't work, and lacked the right ammo for personnel They deserved to lose!
well it's like they say, "battles aren't won they are lost" too many fuck up caused by poor leadership were the main reason for the fall of the fort rather than any brilliance on behalf of the germans. manned by a capable and determined force the german attack could have been a bold and daring failure
Even so, this was both badass AND hardcore especially for 1940... Remember no GPS no lazer designation for air support, and most of all NO COPPERS to get them out if things when to hell...
@matt99is Germans did not copy from the Russians. They saw a Airborne Docterine that they could use. Sure they watched Soviet airborne troops jump from planes and slide off the wings of transports. The "Theory" was there but the Germans Implemented their own way of deployment by themself and how they would best be used for their docterine of Warfare.
@FinalWar1444 Germany didnt INVENT airborne forces they were neither the first. The first army to actively use them was russia I think and the first army to try it was France.
@anttonoo right and wrong. The Italians and Russians first came up with their own Airborne Docterine. Germany was the first Nation to use this docterine to good effect. Russian had the largest Airborne Army.. but the Purges pretty much halted progression. The Germans trained in Russia and Major F. W. Immans was liked what he saw and had instructions to begin training at Stendal
@anttonoo Because they were successful Strategically and tactically. Norway and Denmark operations. Belgium Operations, Holland, France, Crete(most casualties however were still able to meet required Operational tasks) Balkans, W.Front. E.front. Nicknamed by the Allies as the "Green Devils" SO I think they were used to good effect.
@anttonoo Not knocking your studentship or nothing, but I have studied this part of History for over 20years. I have met many Vetrans in this time, both Allied and Axis. So when you question how the Fallschirmjager was employed with doubt, it reveals your not knowing of such an Elite force. Not only from the Air, but their defences from the Ground were legendary. Ask the men that battled in Italy and the hedgerows.
@FinalWar1444 your freaking retarded. the Idea for Airborne troops was though in WW1 by a American. but it was never tested.
1944? try 1943 dumb shit. Americans made Para drops into Sicily, Africa. and then went on to make para drops on France,Germany,Burma and the Philippines. the hardest Para Operation was in the Philippines, very low jump onto a very small Island.
also the First people to really test Airborne operations was the Russians and Italy. PICK UP A BOOK @FinalWar1444
@Dogmeat1950 The American Soldier is the worst Soldier I ever met. He is naive, uneducated and a bad fighter.
Big mouth but no substance! It took them three years with a number of 4-1 to defeat Germany. Your right in that point , it was actually the Russians, who had the first Airborn battalion. Your soldiers are not just mediocre, but mediocre bad. You lack the fighting spirit of the SS and paratroopers and unlike the Chinese and Russians have learned to eat dirt
@Dogmeat1950 Why do US Marines have a reputation for being stupid? Because their job isn't intellectually challenging, they didn't go to college, they yell "ooh-rah", and they tend to be the drunkest and most obnoxious people at any bar. They're almost always the same jocks from high school that played linebacker and coasted through class getting C-'s.
@Dogmeat1950 The first human in space was Russian Yuri Gagarin, who was launched into space on April 12, 1961 aboard Vostok. Alan Shepard became the first American and second person in space on May 5, 1961 on a 15-minute sub-orbital flight and was not a Marine but a Rear Admiral, United States Navy. You owe your space program to a former german scientist and member of the SS, Wernher von Braun
@Dogmeat1950 a country which would be familiar with history never deposed Saddam and occupied Iraq. Especially if it creates a power vacuum. A troop withdrawal by 2011 would be suicide for the country. What do you think will be the next step? .Negotiations with the Shiites and their top leader Muktada al-Sadr?
@ozeangruen hmmmm what did I tell you about changing the topic? I don't care what the topic is...your not going to go around the fact that you can't read and you don't know much about history.
@Dogmeat1950 that's nitpicking. the first man in orbit was still a Russian. Your knowledge of history are probably from Fox news or discovery channel. John Glenn was perhaps the exception of an intelligent Marine, what does not apply to you. For your life are probably only two opportunities. 1st. to continue working as Starbucks clerk 2nd. the USMC.
@ozeangruen O...m ..g are you really that fucking retarded? I talked about the First American! was a U.S Marines. I didn't say anything about the first man in space. I said First American. "perhaps the exception"? hahahahaha you could never in your life achieve what he did. Eagle Scout, Fighter Pilot and a ACE test Pilot in the Space Program a Senator. Oldest Man to go into Space. ya.....please STFU. my knowledge on history comes from reading books.
@Dogmeat1950 do I need to achive what he did-no I dont have to! Told ya John Glenn was perhaps the exception of an intelligent Marine, what does not apply to you! What books you read? Micky Mouse, Superman, Starbucks menu? copy that?
@FinalWar1444 no in fact it were the russians who did nearly after WWI. Allied officers saw during a parade troops jumping from a plane and said : 'this technique is never gonna be useful during a battl" seems they were wrong
bullshit, there probably weren't any french soldiers only walloon soldiers and these soldiers barely saw action in the entire war, in Belgium fighting was something the flemish had to
Does anybody know what is the name of the weapon carried by a German soldier at 4:37?

Germany invented airborne forces. Americans just copied the Germans and jumped on a bunch of old men in 1944 when the war was almost over.
