Wow, this brings back memories. I used to love this game when I was a kid. I always found it weird when you killed an enemy, they did some kind of salute.
I don't think it was a salute. I always saw it like this: they get shot, clutch their chest, and when their hand is up, they're looking at the blood because they can't believe you shot them. It's like they're going ,"NOOOOOOoooooo!!!"
THANK you for posting this. I had watched my friend play this years and years ago but I couldn't remember the name until I saw this.
I have to say, though, the Secret Service must have sucked balls in the mid-80s to late-90s with all the times that the President got kidnapped in video games.
It's crazy that this game is 18 years old (TG-16 version) while the original arcade version is 20 years old. This version was superior IMO though. Great times and nostalgia! 5/5
I want to start uploading my massive TruboGrafx games, but how do I record for more than ten minutes? Does anyone know? I just upload short songs as it is now.
You can't do it. I was accepted a Director's Account before January 07, when YouTube killed off the essence of the Director's Account, that being the 10+ minute privilege.
it was first released for the arcades in 1988 by Data East (now G-Mode), then it was released in 1990 by the same company for the Turbo Grafx-16/PC Engine, and in 2007 it was ported over to the Nintendo Wii as a Virtual Console title. as for what i think of Bloody Wolf. it's a really good game that's superior to Ikari Warriors and Mercs (this is coming from someone who has never played a Turbo Grafx-16 console in his life)
I liked it. The storyline is pretty light like you mentioned (although I don't really pay much attention to storylines in shooters like this). But, the way the game progresses is pretty original imo. I don't want to spoil it though. >_>
Ah, one of my favorite 16 games,

A friend of mine and I beat this game late one night. Just wow...this game has the most hardcore protagonists ever.

Awesome game. I beat this one like 10 times as a little kid (which was no easy feat for me at the time).

@staticks Same here, I remember having trouble with the last boss, now I have only seen videos of him but, man he seems easier than the first boss.
Oh and I love the fact that the first level theme replays at the last boss just for some epic flavor.

The beginning of the boss music sounds like the riff to 'kick out the jams' by the MC5!

This Game doesn't seem so Bad...this is different than most shooters I've seen.

I wish I still had this game and not sold it, stupidly, along with every game I had and my TG16 in a garage sale.

@237th Nah... they are going: "I that am dying SALUTE THY!" or "HEIL JEBUS!" In the arcade version.

@Te4RHyP3 The arcade version was terrible! Mostly because it lacks this epicure theme.

You can also split your files into 10 min files each.

Die hard is ok... not great but i guess if you a seriously pc engine collector then snap it up..

Any more Contra style shooters for this system besides this and Last Alert (aka the game best voice overs ever)?
Nintega 4 years ago
There's Die Hard, which plays just like Bloody Wolf
Toneman 4 years ago
Theres also marchen maze and the gauntlet-esque Dungeon Explorer which not quite contra but adventure/platform shooters then yes!
Theres also shubibinman/aka shockman.
I was thinking hudsonsoft shoulda did air zonk/pc denjin into a megaman type game.
DigiHatesMakingNames 4 years ago
@Nintega You're just being sarcastic on Last Alert.
I happen to actually LIKE the voices in that game.
