Ron Paul is an honest. But he doesnt know history or economics. He thinks that the constitution is somehow magic and will work things out just fine. SOmeone should tell this idiot that under his preciouis constitution, we had slavery, child labor, scab labor, sweat shop labor, wide spread poverty. Dark -- thanks -- but you dont seem to grasp this. Ron Paul could care less what the people want. People wanted labor laws, from 1850-1910, they kept passing labor laws. Repeatedly. Strict constuctionist kept saying hell no, its not in the constitution, you cant have labor laws - or anything- unless you change the constitution. Labor laws, civil rights laws, pollution laws, safety laws, all these things went like that.
Ron Paul is trying to show people that a country based on lies can't survive, and when politicians swear an oath to uphold the Constitution and don't uphold it, that's a lie. People shouldn't tolerate lies from their representatives, it's a slippery slope to ruin.

I'm an avid RP supporter but I must say this ad kinda sucked. They need to just take excerpts from his speeches, show his voting record and give some emphasis.
If you think he has no chance right now, divide his chances by half and it would still be higher than if he ran as an independent. This country is so biased against independents it's disgusting. Here's my prediction (and I've been pretty damn accurate this election season): Huckabee will come in 2nd or 3rd place in New Hampshire, while Ron Paul will pick up his usual 10% scraps. This will be a victory for Huckabee since he's not expected to perform well in New Hampshire. He'll then roll up South Carolina and all the southern states. I agree with Judoyodan. This ad is absolutely wrong. God did not "give us freedom", people who lost their lives for the Constitution did. Pandering to the religious right in Iowa is no longer necessary, so this ad can go.

This is not a religious issue. The message is simply saying that a man has no right to take away another man's freedom that we are born with. Freedom and civil liberties are man's choice not to be decided by another man. The ad is not suggesting that the constitution is wrong. The ad is simply saying, God, our creator, Buddah, Jah, a higher being, whatever you want to call it gave us our basic freedoms as a human being and they are not to be determined by another man.

You are talking 2 different worlds. The grassroots supporters who produced the great RP videos had no 30-sec time limit and could use any and all TV debate and copyrighted TV footage and music anywhere they could find it. TV ads are different because you have a 30-sec time limit and you need full release of all music, talent and footage. Although I admire most of the grassroots produced Ron Paul videos mentioned, most of the footage and music in their productions is unusable for the TV ads.
What works on Youtube, and is acclaimed, will also work well on the airwaves (cablewaves). The 30 second limitation is the drawback. But these people that we've been discussing are some extraordinarily talented production people, and collaboratively could produce much better quality (sub-standard) than what I've been seeing coming out of this campaign, imho.
We need innovation in this campaign (like blimps, Boston Tea Parties, etc) not just the same old tired political strategies that are turn off or simply unremarkable to the general population.
I met the producer of this TV commercial through Meetup. He is a highly talented grassroots production professional. I know he has won numerous national and international awards including awards at Sundance and other festivals. I can see many people love this TV ad. Unlike other candidates, Ron's appeal spans across so many political ideologies that there isn't a way to make the one ad that will appeal to EVERYONE in his grassroots base.
Change "God" to "Creator" and I'D approve this message. The Founders used the word "creator" in the Declaration of Independence, and nowhere is it to be found in the Constitution itself.

Ron Paul is an honest. But he doesnt know history or economics. He thinks that the constitution is somehow magic and will work things out just fine. SOmeone should tell this idiot that under his preciouis constitution, we had slavery, child labor, scab labor, sweat shop labor, wide spread poverty. It took huge efforts each time to remedy such evil things -- and wack heads like Ron Paul stood in the way of those corrections, each time waving his interpretation of the constitution.

Well thats a good point, he is honest and thats very attractive. But you can be honestly wrong, too. And thats what Paul is. No FBI --no IRS, FED, labor rights, safey laws. Dark -- thanks -- but you dont seem to grasp this. Ron Paul could care less what the people want. People wanted labor laws, from 1850-1910, they kept passing labor laws. Repeatedly. Strict constuctionist kept saying hell no, its not in the constitution, you cant have labor laws - or anything- unless you change the constitution. Labor laws, civil rights laws, pollution laws, safety laws, all these things went like that.

Our rights are inalienable and are given to us by our creator (whomever that may be), not by man. The Bill of Rights is a restraint on government to protect our rights and not our rights given to us by our government. Here's my prediction (and I've been pretty damn accurate this election season): Huckabee will come in 2nd or 3rd place in New Hampshire, while Ron Paul will pick up his usual 10% scraps. This will be a victory for Huckabee since he's not expected to perform well in New Hampshire. He'll then roll up South Carolina and all the southern states. I would also question how appealing to economic fear ("FORECLOSURE!", etc) is that different from appealing to fear of terrorists. I would prefer to see an affirmative message (RP will dramatically cut your federal taxes by eliminating huge bureaucracies in Washington, as Reagan wanted). This is not a religious issue. The message is simply saying that a man has no right to take away another man's freedom that we are born with. Freedom and civil liberties are man's choice not to be decided by another man. The ad is not suggesting that the constitution is wrong. The ad is simply saying, God, our creator, Buddah, Jah, a higher being, whatever you want to call it gave us our basic freedoms as a human being and they are not to be determined by another man.

You are talking 2 different worlds. The grassroots supporters who produced the great RP videos had no 30-sec time limit and could use any and all TV debate and copyrighted TV footage and music anywhere they could find it. TV ads are different because you have a 30-sec time limit and you need full release of all music, talent and footage. Although I admire most of the grassroots produced Ron Paul videos mentioned, most of the footage and music in their productions is unusable for the TV ads.

What works on Youtube, and is acclaimed, will also work well on the airwaves (cablewaves). The 30 second limitation is the drawback. But these people that we've been discussing are some extraordinarily talented production people, and collaboratively could produce much better quality (sub-standard) than what I've been seeing coming out of this campaign, imho.

I met the producer of this TV commercial through Meetup. He is a highly talented grassroots production professional. I know he has won numerous national and international awards including awards at Sundance and other festivals. I can see many people love this TV ad. Unlike other candidates, Ron's appeal spans across so many political ideologies that there isn't a way to make the one ad that will appeal to EVERYONE in his grassroots base.

Actually, if you haven't noticed, we OWNED Guilaini, who the media was saying was the annoited nominee. We got more then twice the vote he did. They all said "you'll only get 4% of the vote!" and we got over 10%! Win or loose, one thing has been proven tonight...THERE IS STILL A STRONG LIBERTARIAN FACTION OF THE GOP, AND W/RP, IT WILL ONLY GET STRONGER!
