Though the numbers surprise me. I've been to Lithuania and it's a fairly prosperous country. Though during the Soviet era lots of Russians migrated to Lithuania by order of the state, so the relationship between the Lithuanians and the Russians is pretty crass. That might be one reason.

The suicide rate IS high, that's because over the winter, most of the country is in freakin darkness. Only short amount of light per day. Wake up it's dark, go to school it's dark, while in school it's light outside for a couple hrs, then it's dark again when u leave school, get home, mope around, n then kill urself cuz ur so damn depressed because of all the damn darkness. @TMac473 I doubt it has a lot to with feminists laws. It has, if anything, more to do with the weather in Sweden. Autumn and winter in Scandinavia can be fucking depressing. Once autumn hits in Northern Europe, we have grey skies for months until mid-spring, which can push you ever the edge if you are in bad state of mind. I live in the Netherlands, which has the same problem, but Sweden is a bit worse in that respect. I have read some articles confirming this, but it could all be bullshit :-P

The suicide rate IS high, that's because over the winter, most of the country is in freakin darkness. Only short amount of light per day. Wake up it's dark, go to school it's dark, while in school it's light outside for a couple hrs, then it's dark again when u leave school, get home, mope around, n then kill urself cuz ur so damn depressed because of all the damn darkness. But Swedes are retarded...so it's kinda good that they wipe themselves off the planet slowly. More room for us!

I work security for various bars and nightclubs here in sweden and in my experience, the bigger the city, the crappier security you get. I'll never visit a pub in stockholm or göteborg again, those guys are retards. (most of them)

President Eisenhower commented on it when he tried to paint a negative picture of Sweden, a socialist nation that had set itself on a neutral stance outside NATO. Sweden doesnt have an unusually high rate. France,Australia and Germany each show higher rates than Sweden. The rate is slightly higher than Canada and USA, not highest in the world.

When he says "I'm in a prison in the mountains" I don't think he LITERALLY means a prison in the mountains. Bas puts a lot of colorful spin on his stories. That's why we love him.

Their parking lot which is connected to the building complex is under a park, which is is a small mountain =)... and the main driveway to it really does look like the road is going into one big rock...

Swedens suicide rate isnt that high, its a myth. The real story is that Sweden has got the highest "success rate" of suicides. When Swedes want to go, they manage. Compared to the rest of the world its not to many cries for help by "trying" to commit suicide.

@TMac473 I doubt it has a lot to with feminists laws. It has, if anything, more to do with the weather in Sweden. Autumn and winter in Scandinavia can be fucking depressing. Once autumn hits in Northern Europe, we have grey skies for months until mid-spring, which can push you ever the edge if you are in bad state of mind. I live in the Netherlands, which has the same problem, but Sweden is a bit worse in that respect. I have read some articles confirming this, but it could all be bullshit :-P
