  • Very interesting! I once thought about doing something similar using a camera module that I found in the internet.

    I think the reason why the image appears to be zoomed in on the wide angle lens is because of the different diameters. The film used to have 35mm, and the little webcam has not even 10mm, I assume. So I think you'd have to move the camera further away from the lens, to get a wider picture.

  • Zenit cameras were made in the Soviet Union and unfortunately, although they were cheap, they were not well-made.

  • Also, you'll find the focussing ability of the Zenit lens/sensor combination is dependent on how far it is from the lens. The picture is "upside down" because of the way light enters into the lens. A bit like your eyes which invert the image. Your brain makes sure that what you see appears the right way up. The equivalent function on a digital camera would possibly be in the software it uses. As you discovered though, you can turn the whole camera upside down! Well done, a great video.
