Jimmy Chamberlin is the man on drums. Haven't met him yet but wow. I don't think any drummer is better than any body else. Everybody makes their drumming their own and develops their own style. Why say "so and so is better" all drummers are good, as long as they are contributing to the music.

Jimmy is one the most articulate rock drummers ever. He uses lots of dynamics with his rim shots and chops..just listen to the Gish album!!

Not the best quality video to begin with. I do think that Jimmy in the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex murders any recent Pumpkins material. JCC rivals Gish through Mellon Collie, but JCC surpasses anything afterwards by far. I can honestly state that Jimmy taught me dynamic and technique just by listening to his recordings. Not too many drummers have that capability!

Look at Lars's drumming in his prime with Metallica--definitely an incredible drummer during the early 80's when they were slashing and thrashing away like wild lightning! In fact, the first three album are BEASTS and the drumming is remarkable. One cannot misrepresent Lars's slower drumming with the slower Metallica records. In fact, he's still quite incredible! especially to be his age and still lightning-fast.

I can probably count on one hand the number of Chamberlin solos I've heard. The best/most impressive stuff I seen him do was with the Complex when I seen them live. Crazy solos

honestly though Jordison isn't a full metal drummer cause (I know you guys will bash me for saying this) if you listen closely to him in songs you can tell he isn't using the double bass constantly he is actually using a little bit of jazz but if you want to compare metal drummers I'd have to say Tim Yeung and Derek Roddy are your best bets

granted, joey jordison's still not a good drummer. but the purpose of a trigger is to make the bass sound clean. when you're going as fast as he does the bass drums get drowned out by other instruments so you use triggers to help distinguish the sound.
