okay one question they say they need a digital tacho cause this car accelerates too quickly, so please someone upload a video proving this or else i see it as nothing BS of car companies, cause judging by this video it don't rev up the fast, hell my mates VL Walkinshaw revs faster then this video! and also this tacho looks nothing like the tacho in videos with the actual car!

@TheDh0ffryn The claim that Lexus made that you are referring to is true. They stated the reason why a digital tachometer is necessary is that the LF-A gains and loses revs too quickly while in neutral. The engine won't rev as quickly when it is in a gear because it is putting power through the wheels, meaning that a computer (i.e. TCS) is limiting how quickly it revs in order to retain traction throughout the full power band.

It would be nice if the video of this display was accurate, however it's not. The sound does NOT match what the rev counter is doing AND notice how the other readouts, water & oil temp, but especially the oil pressure… it does NOT change. It SHOULD increase as the revs do.  This video is crap.

And High voltage and AC Circuits can still be analyzed with analog. I highly doubt this car would cause an analog dial to fall to pieces ;)

You're right, analog usually works great. What you're overlooking is the speed the needle moves at. It doesn't matter whether we're measuring a normal car engine, or the total power output of a new nuclear power plant, the needle will move relatively slowly when things change.

This car can rev from idle to redline in 0.6 second. Analog gauges fast enough to keep up are possible, but would not be reliable enough for years of driving. They'd also weigh too much for such a purposeful car.

@zamuriaz what are you talking about? if you want to hit the redline you just wait to shift it. its a dual clutch paddle shift automatic. you choose when to shift unless you put it in automatic mode.

@Killaz388 I assume you mean the rev needle. It's completely electronic and more accurate. It will read the engine speed much more frequently than the standard analog needle as it can react to the changes much more quickly

@JPSAssoc apparently that was the Very Reason they choose a Digital Cluster in the LFA over a Standard Cluster...the Engine is capable of revving many times faster than a standard analog tach can accurately show...so it got a Full LCD Cluster.
