The people complaining about Fury being black clearly know absolutely nothing about the character. The whole shtick about the original Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos comic from the 60's was that the group was racially and ethnically diverse. This is why when Mark Millar was re-imagining the character for the Ultimate universe it clicked "Duh, let's make him black! Better yet, lets make him SLJ!". Y'know, this is kinda cool. I don't think I've heard of a set of connecting movies like this before (of course, I'm not really old enough to know that many movies, but...). This is a unique twist Marvel is going at here. Can't wait to see how the Avengers turn out. :D

Since in a follower of the Utimate comics, i was introduced to the "Jackson" Fury, long before i knew of the "Hoff" Fury.
So because i'm more familiar with the Ultimate Nick Fury, Jackson is the ONLY choice for me

Yes, i know there is 2 versions of Fury but like i said I guess im more used to the other Fury. It was mainly in reference to the way they butcher some of the characters eg the Xmen movies

like how they butcher wolverine in thos xmen movies. example: wolverines height? him seeming more like a leader character, even when cyclops is clearly the leader. how they made the whole xmen movies seem more like wolverine the movie, rather than xmen the movie? than kind of butchering.

wolverine is the most popular character in all of comics. they'd be stupid to make cyclops, a stuffy-prick-nerd-loser at life, as the star of the xmen franchise. from an economic standpoint, anything less than putting wolvie at the forefront would have been commercial suicide.

correction. wolverine isnt the most popular marvel comic character, theres a few ahead of him. putting wolverine in the front would please his fan service. wolverine is famous, cause marvel build his character. as a whole, cyclops has more story than wolverine and more connection with other characters. the more they pushed wolverine as the leading character, the more the movies got worst. wolverine is basically a character younger kids would like, with his commercial appeal.

exactly my point, his commercial appeal. wolverine changed comic book characters completely. his anti-hero status was the next logical evolution of the costumed hero. His popularity skyrocketed in the '90's. Maybe Spider-Man and Hulk are more popular, but thats it. Cyclops's story s pretty mundane compared to wolvies. Wolvies story is deep and rich and even though they revealed his origin, still pretty mysterious. cyclops is just a dude who shoots lazers out of his eyes. Sorry to break it to you

by the name of black womb? who was also connected to Juggernaut and charles step farther.. most people didnt even know cable was cyclops son. i like his character more than wolverine, because unlike wolverine, they dont change up wolverine to fit people liking. cyclops has always remained the same over the years. wolverine on the over hand has been over powered over and over, just to please his fanbase. if they did that with cyclops. we dont even know which is the real wolverine.

i'm not saying what you're saying is incorrect, per se, but the fact is, wolverine is more interesting to the movie going public, which is what we're talking about! there's a reason wolvie's popularity rose. do you see a million characters coming out copyng cyclops personality, powers, etc.? No. Wolverine spawned an entire universe (IMAGE/Wildstorm) and without his popularity, we wouldn't even have the xmen movies! You say "most people don't know", and that's exacty what i'm talking about.

"i am the leader" characters.

Nick Fury has been black for several years in the "Ultimate" Marvel comics and animated shows, like Ultimate Avengers. The character was obviously modeled after Samuel L Jackson. Check out wikipedia entry under Ultimate_Nick_Fury

stupider is for someone to use a word they don't know the meaning of (i.e. 'ironic') in a sentence. Irony is a figure of speech in which the literal meaning is the opposite of the intended. In other words it would have made more sense if a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes were cast to play a superhero modeled on Samuel L. Jackson.

Actually...the fact that Marvel would change a character just to satisfy people like you who are too blind to see how much Marvel movies suck is 'friggin stupid' and sad. I love the Marvel heroes and as a kid I thought Marvel was the greatest thing in the world. Now I see that they're just a bunch of sell-outs who give their characters to movie studios just so a bunch of idiots can go 'oh look a cool movie!' The people complaining about Fury being black clearly know absolutely nothing about the character. The whole shtick about the original Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos comic from the 60's was that the group was racially and ethnically diverse. This is why when Mark Millar was re-imagining the character for the Ultimate universe it clicked "Duh, let's make him black! Better yet, lets make him SLJ!". Pay no attention to the whining children who cannot deal with something a little different.

Actually, the original Nick Fury was black, and was changed soon after his creation, tho i believe they kept switching him back and forth. But originally he was black, i think SL J would be a badass Fury, and im really looking forward to the Avengers.
