I sold the little bit of metals we did have last year. I think in a real shtf scenario food, meds, guns and any type of camping gear and hand tools would be good for barter. When it's real bad we can't eat gold. I am touched to see you have a Scripture in your preps, we do too. People question my faith because I prep, but Joseph prepped for the famine and he had lots of faith. A wise person prepares when he sees a storm coming. I know the Lord is leading me to prep, but I welcome Jesus' return.
@ken18328 I agree. The most important items should be those needed for survival. I don't know how any Christian can question the need for being prepared. Jesus will return, and I hope for His return every day. But we must also use the brain that God gave us to see what lies ahead and plan accordingly. I would contend that the people that don't prepare, have a greater faith in man and our society than in God. The Bible clearly warns of famines in the end times. God will lead us if we listen.
@ken18328 I agree, we have to look for Jesus to return and that is my hope is to be ready when he does. I try to listen to what the Lord instructs me to do. That doesn't mean that we all will be doing the same thing. I sincerely hope that I will never need to use any of this. It could be that others will need what I have prepared after I am gone. We were given prophesy to guide us and wisdom because we asked for it from God. Keep the faith and may God bless you and yours
@pamintherock Jesus instructed the disciples to follow Him and be fishers of men, Matthew 5:19. That was their calling from Jesus. Now if you read I Corinthians 12:14-27, you will discover that there are many parts to the body of Christ, just like hands, eyes, and feet. This is illustrating that we all have different roles to play and duties to perform. We should value each part and when one part is injured it injures the whole body. We can't all be 'eyes' some have to be 'hands'. God bless.
Jesus said to Drop EVERYTHING BEHIND and follow him. No possessions needed, go empty handed and follow Jesus. - Bible
