  • This song is so poignant - the people in the world that have money often spend it on things that could wait. At the same time there are people and causes that need help and the people with the power and ability to do something do nothing. The world is out of balance and there's no need for it.

Julian has a way of thinking that he inherited from his dad. Maybe we can all learn from both of them.

    xx

  • Julian is a handsomer version of his dad.

  • his father lives in him and sean music

  • voto: 9

  • He is beautiful, and so is his music....

  • does anybody reckon he looks alot like john cusack?

  • must be genetic as theres another video at YT interviewing julian and he says that he "met" his father only 8 times- max...in his entire life- and each time it was "difficult"...he didnt get the proceeds of john's fame either and didnt live a lavish life.

despite that, he produces gems like this and others...

  • Thank you for posting this video - this is my favourite song by Julian Lennon - beautiful sound and sentiments.

  • so much, too soon. We don't deserve it so consumed by greed!

  • Very clever, but have you ever thought what you would spend all that precious money on if we rape the planet that much there is nothing left! Not so clever huh?

  • Ha ha fear not champion, there's plenty of planet left. So I'll have heaps of things to spend my 'precious' money on. Have a wash, hippy.

  • Saw Julian Lennon in concert when he toured Australia...was superb. Close your ears and swear you could hear John in his voice...Love them both!

  • How'd we able to listen with our ears closed?

  • i meant eyes. im an old woman..gimme a break! lol

  • hahaha i apologize!

  • great lyrics well done

  • bravo

  • Thanks Julian for a great song... how did you know that now we are suffering exactly what your song is about... global warming, loss of habitat

Inspiring.... And I love you voice your better than your Dad.

  • He was before his time, wasn't he. ;) He was singing about environmental issues in 1991, which was 17 years ago, before Global Warming was really starting to be recognized as a real problem. Smart man. :)

  • Great song!

  • Julian looks + sounds the image of his dad

+ this song is amazing - thanks again

  • qwertyuiopasdfghjklñzxcvbnm

  • love this song so much

    Julian ur the best <3

  • Wow this is the song my school used to sing at the end of all our school plays so for like 5 years i sung this but i have never memorised the words.

  • He's beautiful on the inside, too.

  • The start souds like Strawberry Fields Forever

  • This is Julian. John is dead. Sad but get over it, and appreciate the man for his own music.

  • "What will I think if me the day that I die." So profound... Give me shivers. This song is a masterpiece.

  • think OF me.... typo

  • THE BEATLES REVIVED.

  • he looks like tobin bell from SawIV.

  • he reminds me of John...

  • sounds like strawberry fields....

  • Actually, he purposely tried to make it sound a little like Strawberry Fields to get people's attention so they would listen to what the song was about. Did it get your attention?

  • it got my attention when i first heard it....i wish all four sons of The Beatles would get together and form a band...WOULDN'T THAT BE AMAZING there all talented.. not sure about James Macartney.. does he do anthing...?? SEAN LENNON IS A SPLITTING IMAGE OF JOHN..

  • I wouldn't hold your breath. Sean is scoring a movie at the moment (WOW what I've heard) & Jules is releasing his own CD this spring (also WOW..myspace-com/julianlennon for details from THE man himself ;)..& Dhani just released his own CD (he's very talented too). Both brothers resemble John, but I see a lot of their moms too. Sean, Yoko & Jules, Cynthia. BUT...Jules & Sean haven't ruled out doing a project together someday. But only when if feels right. They're not going to force it.

  • thanx for your reply..very informative.. i will..look out for the guys new stuff.. thanx again JulianFan55..peace V

  • You're welcome. :)

  • Whatever happened to Julian?I really love this song;Talk about A Chip Off The Old Block.

  • Go to: myspace-com/julianlennon and find out from the man himself. ;) He's blogging there & there are early mixes of new songs that will be on a new CD he's working on getting release in the Spring. He is VERY talented. :)

  • yes!!!i knew the genes are in him!!!

  • julian sounds so much like john, it gives me shivers

  • I still love Julian Lennon so much!

  • Julian Lennon is so much like his Father John. It's unbelieveable how much his voice sounds like John Lennon. Julian Lennon is VERY talented!!! Love this song!

  • holy guacamole...he is talented...:)

  • i really wish the best of success for Julian he is making it and does not need his dad's fame to help him Julian your talented and such a handsome man.

  • ALL THAT I CAN SAY IS GOD BLESS YOU!

  • amazing visions...

great song...and Julian looks like his dad...

  • A beautiful song, I remember when this song was released in 1991.

  • i HAVE A NEW HERO HEHEHE I LIKE HE´S MUSIC AND HE IS KIND AND CUTE:)

  • I remember this pretty good clip and song !! "Whaledreamers" was awesome ! thanks

  • His use of the mellotron was genious.

  • i think he could look his father in the face now as an artist in his own right.

  • The sound guitar reminds me the one played by the fab George...

  • Yes, it sounds like George's unmistakable, sweet and intense guitar.

  • It was definitely George

  • i CAN'T BELIVE THIS WS 17 YEARS AGO

  • such a brilliant song indeed.

Julian is talented and deserves more attention, although must be pretty hard to be the son of the best songwriter ever...

  • i agree, his music is so amazing, but its so overlooked by his fathers music. very sad, i hope his new album will change that

  • the look is there, the voice is there, thank god the gene is there... no doubt he is the son of the genius

  • i've said it afore, and i'll do so again...not only a great tune, but becoming ever more poignant as every day falls by.unless we break the strangle hold of the oil barons, well lets just say our grandchildren have no future.

  • The beginning reminds me of I am the Walrus.

  • Actually it's more like Strawberry Fields, which he did on purpose BTW. He did it to get people's attention so they would listen to what the song is about. Did it work? ;)

  • mmm...sounds more like I am the Walrus to me. With a little Strawberry Fields. Maybe a combo of the both of them. It's cool that he uses Beatle similarities to get people's attention to listen to his music, but it's always much better to experience something new. I like himm though, he is a good artist. I like him better than Sean Lennon.

  • A beautiful song that Julian should be so proud of. A song to bring a smile to his father's face.

  • Piece of art!!!

    Beautiful

  • I agree but right before he died, he was changing his ways with both Julian and Sean. He was trying to do good and better. So I look up to John for changing himself for the better in that area! :) I wish my dad would change but not going to happen apparently. I don't look up to people that don't change for the better. Love this video and song! TY for posting!

    Heidi

  • You know, its funny that you mentioned that, because I read recently that Yoko had really been on John really hard about being a good father to Julian, rather if its true or not idk

  • this guy knows to do pop music, smart, congratulations from venezuela

  • Great message in this song, cool vid too

  • A Liverpool Legend!!

  • Amazing...like John!!

  • Fantabulous!!!!!

  • monserrat sotero badillo

  • this is my one of my favorite of jules he is awesome

  • this song is one of my favorites jules has a huge talent i love him

  • Julian is so wonderful! He has his Dad`s talent , but he has his own style. I love him!

  • Beautiful Song ! Well Done Julian! Looking forward to his new album.

  • its amazing how he is just so musically like his dad.

  • I just found this song from Whaledreamers and I love it already!!

    Free Lolita!!!!!

  • You need to go to Amazon-com to buy Julian's albums. Just thought I'd save you some time in looking. :) Julian is an awesome singer! You'll find 5 CD's out there and a new CD that will be released soon. There are 3 early mixes of songs that will be on his new CD on his MySpace page if you're interested in hearing them. :)

  • I like this song. He looks lk his father. :)

  • Who is the band at the end??? Name of song too?

  • Moody Blues. The songs called Go Now.

  • "Go Now"-there's a great version with Paul and Linda on Wings Over America!

  • i was joking

  • Geiles Lied.

Hab gerade das Buch von Cinthia gelesen.

Julian singt und sieht so aus wie John.Ist es nun Fluch oder Segen?

  • What?? He is image of his mother Cynthia!?

  • Uhh, well that's strange, since she isn't his mother....

  • Just like John, but voice is better than his, i think ;)

  • Jesuschrist, he even LOOKS like John SO FREAKING MUCH here!!!

  • me gusta el video *-*

  • julian lennons one album was amazing

  • Which one? He's done 5 albums and #6 is on the way........

  • It's sad how a lot of people think he only had one album. :/ Do you mean "Valotte"? Just so you know, "Saltwater" is on his 4th album, "Help Yourself". Good, solid album. "Photograph Smile" is amazing and his 6th album, which just got done being mixed is soon on the way as juliannisaakfan said, from what I've heard of it with the early mixes on MySpace is going to be even more awesome. :)

  • fantastically beautiful.

  • exactly the same voice like his father´s

  • hermoso,linda cancion

  • i have to sing this in the school musical =s

And i no the lyrics but i dont well, like, the song...

  • well then refuse to take part in your fascist school musical, revolt :)

go on strike do whatever you have too

    (Y)

  • Very Nice Song!! I Love Julian:)

  • Me recuerda a Strawberry Fields.

Tambien a Golden Sun, no se por qué.

  • Lovely song, my funeral song imo.

  • What an excellent, if poignant, song. Very George Harrison-esque, especially the guitar licks. Should have been as big a hit in the U.S. as "Too Late for Goodbyes" was.

  • Good observation because the lead guitar IS George. :-)

  • Hey Julie- How do you know that's George Harrison on this???? All of a sudden he's been dead several years. Is it a sample?-K

  • This song was released before George Harrison's death. Actually, here's what Jules said about it in a radio transcript on a website called HeyJules. I think this is why it's uncredited...continued...

  • ...Jules Quote: "I know. I know! I originally wrote the guitar solo and played it on the demo and Bob Ezrin, the producer, and I thought, 'Well, Why don't we get the real guy in to do it?' and we called George and, unfortunately - I mean, we sent him the tapes over but at the time that he was going to try and do it for us was the time that Eric Clapton's kid died and so George was consoling Eric and it was a bit of a bad time but he, nevertheless,...(continued)

  • ..."did do a couple of - threw a couple of rifts in and what we did was we got someone who was also a great guitar player, Steve Hunter to to throw a mixture of George's solo and mine together and that's the final thing that you hear."

  • Julian, I love the person you are and your music. Thank you !

  • This whole album is awesome.

  • Great song. It could easily be the Beatles, that's how good it is. His dad would've been very proud to hear this. Certainly beats Yoko's shreiking!

  • Never hear this song play on the airwaves anymore.Need more cowbell!

  • Maybe it will be soon again. ;) He's re-releasing a remix of it soon. It's on his MySpace page with early mixes of some new songs if you're interested. He's VERY close to releasing new album too. He just wrote a blog today saying he's in the last week of mixing. WOOHOO! Can't wait! :D

  • I love this song Julian and Sean are great!1

    Thanks Jude

  • CLASSIC!

  • i like the song saltwater. i think the video was put together very well.

  • Perfect song..perfect video..beautiful soul,Julian. Thank you.

  • sounds like George Harrison songs "isn't it a pity" in the middle and of course a great slide guitar solo !

    For a great song !

  • The slide guitar solo was actually George Harrison playing if you didn't know that already. But it was uncredited.

  • I think if Lennon Snr could've heard this saltwater would have welled in his eyes! Seems so cruel that the only person who could've truely connected with Lennon was his son and they never got that chance! Juilian seems every inch his Fathers equal, poor Cythia curse Heroin and pray for the sins of Yoko Ono, Drug peddling homewrecker!

  • Wow...beautiful. I never heard this song before tonight. Why has it not been played more?

  • Good question. He was WAY ahead of his time too, releasing this in 1991. Although, he's re-releasing another version of this song soon. He's finishing up a new album, which will be released this year. If you're interested, the new remix of this song is on his MySpace page along with a few other early mixes of new songs that will be on the new album. :)

  • Nice song with a thoughtful message. Go on Julian!!

  • his best song, with george h at his side, great

  • Yeah, good song.

But what is the solution to the problem ?

  • ....us....you...me...us!

  • what a song it is so real

    masterpiece

  • I remember his beginnings in 1984, but I think this is his best song. What a masterpiece!!!

  • i so agree. and he looks like john lennon too!

  • I like the legend that is George Harrison's slide guitar on this. Typically beautiful to match the nice tune of his mates son!

  • George and John were the closest of the beatles I think, I seen a vid from the eighties George talking mentions Juilian's career and he seems so proud like it's his own son! God bless George and John!RIP Long live Juilian!

  • listen to Tommy Emmanuel playing this tune!!!

  • Wow, he somewhat has his dad's voice! Beautiful song. I personally think he sings alot better than Sean Lennon. Julian's voice is softer and less high pitched.

  • God a love this song so much!!!

it's simply beautful and stands the test of time as good as anything else I know.

  • so true, so awful, wish id been born year ago, we need to take care of our world, its nasty really, yep we are to clever, ruined our natural environment

  • On entend bien l'influence de son père et des Beatles !

  • God, he is hot (but then, so was his father). Our children are going to hate us -- a pop song from 1991 was all about how much we're crapping on the planet, and we did nothing, and we're still doing nothing. Of course, I'm not helping the problem by typing this from a carbon-unfriendly computer :-(

  • You're welcome. :)

  • What a beautiful song, always loved it from the first time I heard it. You are your own person and what a talent one at that. Sorry that we don't hear anymore of your music.

  • Actually...he's blogging on MySpace and is releasing a new album this year. ;) Early mixes there to listen to, as well, if you're interested. :)

  • There's even a new mix of this song. :^)

  • I know. ;) I love it too. :)

  • What a beautiful song, always loved it from the first time I heard it. You are your own person and what a talent one at that. Sorry that we don't hear anymore of your music.

  • Julian's Imagine. As good as anything his dad could do!

  • 1991 actually.

  • Julian is hot horney en sexy

  • it is such a moving song!

"and when i hear of the forests that have died..

    saltwater wells in my eyes!"

  • Beautiful voice and song!!

  • looks like his dad

  • Beautiful!

  • sounds like George Harrison on slide guitar !

  • It is George Harrison on slide guitar. But it was uncredited. :)

  • Is Ringo on drums too? Sounds like a trademark Ringo beat?

  • who is the man in 3.20?

  • It's supposed to be himself (Julian) older and at the end of his life ~ that's why they are both singing.

  • ok thks

  • What a pretty song!! Really makes you think. John would be so proud of his little boy!!

  • sera la influencia, los genes o talvez la falta de llenar aquel espacio que nos dejo, sumado a eso la semejansa inevitable que esta cancion nos recuerda a su padre ,sin que ello le reste merito

  • Sad and beautiful! I heard this song years ago,and looked for it so long!-thank you for posting it! I've tried to find it for my friends who are Beatles/Julian fans, tried to describe it, but how do you describe beauty, perfection? Everyone who hears it, loves it. That's definately Harrison on the solo, God I wish they had done more together. Maybe someday, he'll record w/McCartney, love to hear how that would be! Julian, if you ever read this stuff, your so gifted, please share more w/the world!

  • Go on over to his MySpace page. He is sharing more with the world REALLY soon. ;)

  • lovely track , forget who his father was lets judge him on his own credentials and stop unfairly comparing him to one of the greatest musicians of all time :)

  • grahamgregson, I say Amen to that!

  • totally agree could not have said it better

  • he sounds like his dad. i have allways loved this song.

  • Very good and thoughtful song.

  • I love this song so much.

Julian has once said that the beginning of this song is similar to the beginning of Strawberry Fields, because he wanted to draw the listeners attention to this song from the very beginning, and to make them hear the message that way.
