The Midianites conspired with the Moabites to curse Israel (Num 22:1-7). When the curse was turned into a blessing instead (24:10-11), the Moabite and Midianite woman agreed to seduce the Israelite men and in doing so entice them to serve their idols (25:1-9, 31:15-16, Rev 2:14). Yes, it turns out that this was a specific command, given at a specific time to the tribe of Israel concerning a discrete target. This is why Christians and Jews do not treat these verses as present-day imperatives.

Strategic omission is just one way that Muslim apologists manipulate Biblical passages. (In this case, The American Muslim editors did not even include an ellipsis in place of the omission, since it may have raised the suspicions of the reader).

@icimblind, excuse me, specific command. moses in your belief is a holy man, he is going to heaven despite the fact he killed babies and raped women under jesus's command. my next point would be all the evi laws of the old testament, such as a woman who is raped should be forced to marry her rapist are still binding on christians today, but christians choose to pick and choose there religion. jesus is very clear in the book of matthew that old testament laws is binding forever.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter. There is always righteous counter attacks in the Bible, and it is usually after years of suffering persecution/murder. Islam is evil!

actually jesus was very violent and i can prove it. jesus is God in christian belief. it is the God of the bible who ordered moses to slay the midianites just because they believe in another religion. killing there babies and raping there women was allowed as par bible book of numbers 31, 17-18. it was also jesus/ God who said if a woman is raped she should be forced to marry her rapist. the bible is an evil book, dont criticise the Quran before you have looked in the bible.
