Far as I can tell, neither Thurston nor Lee are using anything other than regular distortion, which one specifically is anyone's guess.

Lee's getting that sound from pressing a drumstick against the fretboard, and Thurston *might* be using a harmonizer to get that sound, but it's more likely just the way he's playing.

Dunno if that helps.
