I actually cannot believe this bullshit- Its too bad that all you need to be certified as a personal trainer is a 25-50 hr course. And whats really sad is that some poor people are PAYING this guy to "train" them. What they most likely paying for is training to create structural imbalances.
People are so mean on YouTube. So what the guy was incorrect, it doesn't call for such and onslaught of name calling and ranting. People on here really need to get a life.
this guy shuold get an education, never believe skinny fks , what do they know? they just dont get it? I bet hes never left the gym or questioned any of his own bs in his life. Hes about as interesting as a fence post as well. If he was training me I would run in front of A BUS.
Another example of "Certified Professional Trainers" that should be decertified. No hip flexor stretch here at all. In my experience, these sort of people do more damage than help to peoples fitness and health routines, and the gyms are full of them. Do they get these certificates out of Cracker jack boxes? Burn those worthless pieces of paper and shut down the fraudulent institutions that issue them.
While this is a great stretch for piriformis, hip rotators, and abductors, it is NOT a hip flexor stretch. Hip flexors are located on the anterior (aka - front side) of your hips.
theyre not hip flexors. hip flexors are the illiacus and psoas major neither are stretched here. this is hip abductors and glutes. good stretches for those though
It would be helpful to have this instructor correct some older folks who are learning this movement, correcting the most common errors that lead to injury.
the chap doesnt know the difference between hip flexors and extensors.Thats hardly surprising since a fair amount of so called personal trainers dont know their arse from their elbow.

So he stretched his piriformis and somewhat stretched his IT band/TFL. what the fudge does this have to do with the hips?!

This is ridiculous! This is definitely not a hip flexor stretch. Must be a personal trainer. Great for the piriformis though.

At least I wasn't the only one who noticed. This doesn't do anything for the hip flexors.

@CoachSore yea for sure, hip flexor is kinda like doing the splits, the back leg would have the hip flexor stretched and front leg is mainly hams
