mine cant wheelie like all videos show the stampede xl5 does!!!!!!! i have to backup and forward quick!!!!!!! also my motor acts like it has not enough torque. it turns on and off in a quick cycle if i gun it at a stop. it has a 20 or 21t pinion and stock spur. its the brushed xl5!!! i cant get it to do this and it has to have a FULLY charged battery to do offroad! someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it barely makes it up anything very steep!!!!!!!!!!!
@Icywolf44 Actually, i've seen alot of people do wheelies from a complete stop. I'm not sure what the difference is between hawks 'pede and other 'pedes
I have a traxxas slash and im wondering if I should a Traxxas Stampede, Hpi Brama 10b, hpi cyper 10b, or a losi desert truck. Im only getting one. No brushless only stock. Any suggestions.
HAWKEYE13578. hi sorry i didnt get back to you sooner but i had another spill whith my traxxas on the bmx track and stripped an idle gear. but i have sorted that out now. used the 8.4v with the 21 tooth pinion gear and an 83 tooth spur and did notice more strain being put on the motor but i was getting about 33mph top end but then today i decided to use the 19 tooth pinion instead and the truck acelerated a lot faster and was better of road with less strain on the motor and still getin 25mph lol
its ok ha ha. yeah it doesnt seem hard to strip idler gears, but eventually ill upgrade to the steel transmission. try to find something like a 20 tooth pinion for even accel and power. just a suggestion
yeah took mine out today using a 83 tooth spur and the gp 3300 7.2v battery pretty quick about 25 mph and good off the mark but no wheelies yet lol my 8.4v has arrived aswell just got to switch the connectors over and i will let you know how it goes
lol. but that seems a bit crap traxxas say you should use that pinion gear for speed and it failed you should have had some sort of warranty to get a replacement or somethin and even if mine has it would have ran out a long time ago considering its about 2 years old just hope mine doesnt burn out now lol
i am just running the stock 12 turn modified motor. But i know quite a few people replace them but mine has been ragged around a bit and it has always been reliable
Ok m8 i will let you know.i have ended up fitting a 83 tooth spur gear .well my dad did. because the stock pinion gear would not fit the 76 tooth spur gear. And i have also ordered a GP 7.2v 3300 nimh and also a traxxas powercell 8.4v 3000 nimh which is the one that should get the front end up lol. Just waiting for delivery now and i will let you know in about a week
oh yeah and i have the same model stampede as you im gonna run a traxxas powercell 8.4v 3000 mah battery in it with a 76 tooth pinion gear should be good for almost 30mph and pop wheelies with ease what do you think?
hmm... try it and lemme know i need to figure out how to do wheelies too... its winter right now and im too lazy to waterproof mine so i wont have any new vids up till spring
@blastermaster2222 It never wheelied from the first day i had it.

thejordan343 4 months ago
@thejordan343 I cant ever get mine to, even if i put as many spacers on the rear suspension. But then it flips over too much.

what the heck is on the front rim?
hayden199516 10 months ago
@hayden199516 Lol.
I attempted to make the car more visible by spraying florescent orange paint. It seems to have worked ;)
It honestly didn't make a huge difference for me, or the entire video. I just thought it would help.

do these stampedes do wheelies?
Icywolf44 1 year ago
@Icywolf44 no. ive seen a few do wheelies stock, but i'd imagine there is some tuning involved. i have yet to get mine to wheely
hawkeye13578 1 year ago
@Icywolf44 my 'pede, doesnt wheely, it does if you go back, and then foward right away. but not from a complete stop
hawkeye13578 1 year ago
@Icywolf44 yes, it does if you heve the new stampede...which is what i have and i bought the wheelie bar and it helps a lot
its like a wheelie monster haha

@Icywolf44 yes it does it just needs a 8.4v nimh battery fully charged and you can do a wheelie easy.

@Icywolf44 i dont know much about hpi's or losi's, but the big thing about the stamepe now is- its stock water proof. i would go with the stampede.
