  • This is why guns should be legal, all of this could've been prevented

  • And i hate killeen ,harker heights, coppras cove and temple middle of texas is pretty bad but its worse in Iraq im glad to get back to the states

  • I was in Ft hood texas 1st cav,day before this happened i ate here the guy who did this lived on main street in temple texas 3 houses away! This man was always pretty strange no we dont need tighter gun control but we need to deal with the mentally defective in society! Many times its simply how some are treated over and over they work up to this!

  • I lived in Killeen during this time.. my cat's Vet from Copperas Cove and an administrator from school were killed. It was horrible. We had early out at the school and next I knew, our community was in shock. I found out at around 12:30pm that day when my dad was watching CNN and the breaking news hit.

  • smh, i hate living in Killeen.

  • I grew up in Houston Its been almost 20 years since this day I remember it like it was yesterday it happened 12 days before I turned 8 years old

  • lubys now a yank sang chinese buffet

  • @jjrules07 instead of a yank sing they should have put a memorial up for the people that died here :C

  • is Killeen cursed ??

they get in the news quite a bit for violence.

  • @indyfan22k I live in killeen and I sometimes think that it's cursed too

  • I thought the Spokane fire looked liked the Oakland fires.

  • WTF? I DIN'T KNOW THIS,,, AND WTF HAPPEN AT YANK SING?

  • WTF?

  • My mother and I used to eat at this Luby's about 2-3 times a week before this shooting happened. I was 8 when this happened, I still can't believe it happened to a place I frequently went to.

  • It took police TEN MINUTES to get there. This man was able to kill people for TEN MINUTES before anyone could stop him. Because no one there was armed. Police brag that "If they hadn't arrived when they did 28 more people would have been killed." But how many would still be alive if someone experienced in handling a weapon had shot Hennard sooner?

  • @frogsoda I'm sure the police were not notified about the shooting the very second that it happened, so we're probably talking more like 7 or 8 minutes. I don't think that is too horrible of a response time, and the fact that the police began to immediately open fire probably SAVED several more lives. Hats off to the first responders.

  • Too bad someone in that restaurant wasn't armed.

  • @mesa401 Look at all the Suzanna Hupp videos for that story!

  • It is amazing in my opinion the power one individual can have. To destroy that Lubys - and they never were successful after that and later tore the building down. Clearly this type of revenge works and works effectively. Absolutely amazing.

I cannot believe more people don't do this. What do you have to lose at the end of your life? Really nothing and you have everything to gain.

  • @ChannelingusXIV There is nothing to gain from killing dozens of innocent people before taking your own worthless life. Nothing except proving to the world that you are a chicken-shited pussy and couldn't hack it in life.

  • @ChannelingusXIV

The building wasn't torn down. The interior was completely gutted and remodeled. That Luby's location struggled on for another 9 years, finally shutting down in 2000 if I remember correctly.

The same building is a Chinese buffet today.

  • this is my all time favorite mass shooting. I think we've all felt like doing that at one time or another. There is a mystique about this one. He liked the song 'Don't take me alive' by Steely Dan........... well they didn't take him alive.

  • @ChannelingusXIV The didn't take him alive because he was gutless and killed himself. The greatest form of cowardice

  • The lubys cafeatria was never reopened ather the shooting. It became a chises place. I know because I live near Killeen.

  • @TornadoSponge12390 This is not accurate. Luby's re-opened and was in business until about 4 years ago...it then became a chineese restaraunt. I have lived in this area for many years.

  • @DonnaDray

Although you a right that the Luby's was repaired and re-opened, it closed more than 4 years ago. If memory serves it sat empty for quite a while before Yank Sing moved in.

I can remember reading about it's closing when I was still in high school and I graduated almost a decade ago.

  • @TornadoSponge12390

It did reopen. I've lived in Killeen since 1988. I was 7 when the shootings happened. The interior was gutted and remodeled. the Killeen Luby's struggled on until some time in 2000 when it finally closed.

The building say empty for quite a while before Yank Sing moved in.

  • @hzzlrp10 now im scared to eat at yank sing agian ;( but the food is Perfecto!

  • @funny2566

I know the feeling. I didn't got back to Luby's after they reopened. Some friends dragged me to Yank Sing and I was kind of creeped out the whole time.

  • @hzzlrp10 I never seen these parts of Killeen ever.

  • @codecolt45--I unfortunately no longer have my tapes from '84...already sold them

  • thank you for posting this, could you also post news reports of Mcdonalds killings in San Ysidro,CA July 18,1984?
