@DJChiefyChief now i understand. I use magazine paper. has to be glossy. cannot use newspaper because it sucks up the paint. the corner of a magazine page shaded just right becomes a pyramid. hope that helps.

@sk8dude6893 the paper is most important. must be a glossy side. i use peacock poster board"glossy one side" from walgreen's and yes USE the glossy side. for paint, I personally use krylon or rustoleum but NEVER mix brands on the same piece. hope this helps.

Are you guys do other things that night skies with crazy planetes ? Each time I see someone doing this (at events for example) it's always oceans by night with planets, or weird dreamy places with planets...any idea why such enthousiam for this particlar them ?

@ngaillard50 It's probably because the layout of a picture like that is more freestyle, so you can make whatever you like with the paint as you go along. (Mind you, I have no idea what I'm talking about). :D

You can avoid those nasty white rings around your planets from the round stencils by making sure the paint has dried before putting them down. Use a hair dryer, NOT FIRE, it takes 30 seconds and BOOM... No more rings!

One more thing... Add music to your video, please.

@alexmd94 thanks alot. if you really are intersted in learning. then go get a can of black and 1 of white and just try a night scene or one of the moon and stars. watch as many of these on you-tube as you can find to get the feel for it. DONT BUY INSTRUCTIONAL DVD'S. waste of money. if you can make a half way good moon, then you have the potential to learn more. this video was my 10th painting.

poster paper with one side glossy. walgreens carrys Peackock, so far its the only one side glossy I have been able to find. MAKE SURE, cuz it isn't all the same. paint on the glossy side. Thee type of paint doesn't matter as much, just don't mix the brand of paint on the same picture. I use rustoleum glosss. but everyone has their favorites.

not sure what you mean. at one point i had a load of white paint on my finger tip. i flicked it to make the stars. I use a guitar pick to do the trees. more preasure for a wide trunk area and less preasure to come out to a thin point.

before you pull up the magazine paper...pull it sideways about an inch, then peel it up. you can also give it a little twist first for some different looks
